Seabiscuit director Gary Ross is in negotiations to helm the Spider-Man spinoff Venom, according to Variety. Ross, who’s currently rewriting Spider-Man 4 for Columbia Pictures, would also rewrite the Venom script. The publication also reports that the plan is to reboot the story of the symbiote villain—who did appear in Spider-Man 3—with Topher Grace’s role likely being recast.
