Does WWE really need the ECW brand

Yes they really do need it... to use the other superstars and push them before they send the ecw superstars to Smackdown! or RAW

And specially ECW have Tyler Reks & Zack Ryder ^^

if they could manage to market ECW a little better, and try to make it SEEM like an equal show and not a C show, then the young ppl to come from it wouldnt get dead audiences and shit....but thinking of it, thats pretty stupid, most ECW young guys that have moved on are recognisable

it is needed, in a way, but if its just development and/or a punishement brand then no it aint, as FCW is there for a reason.

I think its needed. I think its good they have a brand to help the newer people, who are ready to be on the main roster but not ready to be on Raw or SD. You got young guys like Ryder, Yoshi, ect and vets like Christian, Tommy, Regal who can help them.

Meh... it isn't needed. For one, the roster is enormous, but assuming that the Roster was smaller than it currently is... than peeps from that brand could be used in the tag team division and mid-card division to ensure that you know what you're getting from each guy. Let them work with the vets on a broader show and gain experience. Whichever ones have "it" will eventually start to reveal that - then you take off the training wheels and let them farther develop by putting into bigger programs that could possibly make them a "next-gen" star.

I like ECW, but its stupid what they've done with it. 'Extreme Championship Wrestling?!' How is the stuff we see on it extreme?

As far as I'm concerned, ECW hasn't lived up to expectations as equal to Raw/Smackdown since Van Dam, Big Show and Lashley were over there.

ECW is the only place Christian is allowed to shine so yes they do need it.

ECW is pretty much the developmental brand; well, they have FCW...why dont they just AIR FCW stuff on a national level, put ECW roster members in it, and put ECW's name to rest?

theyd need a 2nd hr, theres like 15 guys on the FCW roster that havent been called up yet

Yes. Without it, Zack Ryder, Kozlov, and Goldust would be jobbed out on other shows.

Yeah it's just about needed, without it, all the up and coming superstars would just get buried and lose all the momentum they'd gained. Zack Ryder, Ezekial Jackson, Kozlov, Yoshitatsu, Sheamus, etc.. wouldn't be anything without ECW. These stars don't get the chance to shine, and improve their skills without it.

I voted no. As much as I love ECW, it's not as well known as the other brands. I still have people asking me what ECW is.

tbh i think we should have for all the ppl who dont get to see FCW. it shows how ur favorite wrestlers have developed and gives a chance for the younger guys(ECW) to learn from the older guys(smackdown)

I don't have a problem with the brand itself, but as I said above, it being titled 'extreme' just isn't suitable. I did like it better when it was just Smackdown and Raw though.

they shouldn't show FCW, a lot of the matches are crap. have you watched a divas match there? they're lost, and it's a clusterfuck.

AND, FCW really doesn't need a TV deal, it's for guys who aren't ready for TV yet...

if there was no ECW brand, we wouldnt see Punk, Kofi, Miz, Bourne showcasing their talent

^ that's true, and one of those guys is a multiple time world champion who's a major heel now

ECW is a nice stepping stone for developing talent. I still wish it wasnt called ECW, but it is what it is.
