EMLL’s booking committee (Franco Columbo, Jose Luis Feliciano, & Juan Manuel Mar) spoke to Box y Lucha this week about the future plans of the promotion and said that they know that 2009 hasn’t been the best of years for EMLL but they are planning big things for 2010 including building new stars and bringing in better quality foreigners. They are also analyzing every promotional method they have been using to try to bring in fans this year such as family shows on Sundays and cheaper prices on Tuesdays to see what works the best and what doesn’t work and how they can improve their image to the fans. They were then asked about bringing in current independent guys such as Charly Manson & Psicosis and they said that to work for EMLL you must comply with their methods of training and working the schedule they give you and it’s very strict (Super Porky anyone) so they must have the discipline needed to continue to work for the promotion. They know that there is an economic downturn right now and that quite a few buildings have shut down due to it but they are hoping for some economic growth next year and some of the buildings can reopen again so guys can get more work. They are very proud of their young talent and believe that they will be rising up the cards very soon and pushing the veterans to work harder to maintain their spots and they promised more world tours next year as the French tours were successful. There are plans for tours of Africa & South America in April & May respectively and they think this will be very good for the younger starts to gain name recognition around the world. The subject of the TNA working relationship came up and they acknowleged that there have been changes in their management so they don’t know how it will end up yet. They were asked about Val Venis and they said that they still expect him to come in during the next year so they don’t think there is any problems on his end. They closed by saying that the fans of Mexico should come to Arena Coliseo & Arena Mexico to see the best wrestling in the world because they will get their money’s worth and will get great entertainment.
Mr. Niebla put rest to the suspension rumors that were going around to Box y Lucha this week saying that he just took some time off to heal up some injuries that he had accumulated over the summer due to working a big load of shows. Niebla said that he is back for good though and he wants to be in the spotlight specifically calling out “Strongman” Jon Anderson. Niebla then said that with his return, La Peste Negra (Felino, Heavy Metal, & Negro Casas) are now back to full strength and ready to take out the tecnicos.
