Report: More on TNA's Plans For Jay Lethal's Open Challenge

ProWrestling.net is reporting that TNA plans to hold an "open challenge" match for Jay Lethal once a month. So far, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart has competed against Lethal on Impact, and we reported earlier that Tatanka is expected to work a match against Lethal tonight which will air on next week's Impact show. Internally, the reason TNA is only holding a "Legend's Match" once a month is because too many stars from the past are under Legend's deals with WWE that prevent them from appearing on TNA TV. Therefore, TNA would be unable to run the angle on a weekly basis.

They should just cut the angle period and actually have Lethal contribute on the active roster in angles, for goodness' sakes. I don;t personally care to see (no disrespect) a bunch of old guys unwilling to let it go and have no more to contribute squash a still relatively-young competitor who is the part of the future of the company.
