Eve Torres The Future or The Overhyped?

I was on WWE U today and noticed everyones new favorite bandwaggon: Eve. I read about 7 straight pages of constant praising about how she is the future. When the majority thought she was nothing special a week ago.. yet another bandwaggon move by the WWE U Diva's section.

My opinion on Eve?

Her wrestling/improvement is big time overrated by people. She does a bunch of flashy flips that aren't even very difficult to do, I don't really see how that is wrestling. There's nothing wrong with Flashy wrestling but everything she does is so simple unlike Melina and other people with that type of style. I don't wanna keep using Melina as an example but if you take Melina's flashy moves away, she's still a decent wrestler, take Eve's flashy moves away and she's absolutely horendous.

Mic skills, she's decent in backstage segments but if you put a mic in her hand on live TV inside the ring, she's by far one of the worst there is.

And my most important problem I have with Eve.. she has completely no personality. One of the most important parts of being in Pro Wrestling is to have a personality the fans can connect with. Eve doesn't have one at all. She's just so.. blank. I don't really know how else to describe it.

I'm not trying to make it sound like she's the worst diva there is but I don't see what is so special about her at all.

The future. I dont think shes overhyped. Shes not being pushed or anything. Shes really improved, she deserves the credit shes getting.

i dont think he means overhyped by WWE, more so overhyped by the internet community
she has all those fans who dont care about the wrestlin aspect, and are fans cos they fancy her
and then she is one of the very few models that have gotten the support of smarks, mainly due to her getting praised by chicks in SHIMMER....which is a stupid reason to jump the bandwaggon, considering all the women said was that she has the build to be good, she said nothing about her actually being good.

I must say it was hard posting a thread like this because I disagree with the person who originally created it. I think Eve works hard and she has the basics down, first off she can bump her cute little ass off (see Natalya’s discuss clothesline) She does her flashy moves but she has her own little basic moves that she does to like scoop slams, arm drags, dropkicks. Those are basic moves and she does them well for a rookie, she takes risks too. I don’t see any other “models’ doing moonsaults. What happened to Kelly’s moonsault that she was supposed to do when she had a title match? Huh? Newsflash KELLEH! You had two fucking title matches and not a single moonsault in sight. Kelly is full of shit and it pisses me off that sluts like her get praised while someone who deserves it like Eve gets shitted on by the internet community. Blue has spoken

I don't think "overhyped" is the right word. I think the internet community has high hopes for Eve and are really backing her up. Overhyped is getting title shots every chance she gets. I don't she's received ONE title shot yet. Kelly, Alicia, Natalya, Katie Lea, Gail Kim...all received title shots. Eve, not one shot whatsoever.

Eve's different, and that's a good thing. Hopefully WWE will see this and give her a chance to shine big time in 2010, not making her second fiddle to Masters and his "juggies" EWWWWWW!

Each post seems to be the same. Now, can someone tell me in what ways she's improved?

i couldnt tell you a great deal.
ppl keep saying shes got the basics down, when shes got the basics down just as kuch as Alicia, Tiffany, Layla, Kelly etc etc
she does moonsaults, and one legged dropkicks, other then that she still looks very arkward to me

Basics imo mean the simple moves. I have yet to see Layla or Kelly do a simple scoop slam where as Eve does. I have yet to see any of them do a simple hip toss while Eve has. Simple moves like that. Layla likes to work on one body part, Kelly Kelly loves to do her spots, Alicia plays bump machine and rarely gets any offense. That's where the "basic" comes from when I think about Eve.

theres your point Alicia and Layla DONT get to use offense, hence why they dont do things like scoop slams and stuff
PLUS Eve is built to do scoop slams, shes tall and strong, Layla is the smallest diva in the WWE, how the hell is it gonna look right her doing it.
and plus just because divas dont do scoop slams or hiptoss, something Layla does do btw, doesnt mean that Eve is better then them, its all about how a match is booked

Eve is good where she is, she's keeping it basic and using her athletism to her advantage. We just gotta be happy she isn't busting out moonsaults like crazy like everyweek like how Kelly's doing her limited amount of moves.

Is she overhyped? Yes, super hyped, people are ready to compare her to Alicia & Maryse while she is not at that level. Much like Angela Fong. Eve's got loads of things to work on, but she's getting there. Her advantage is she is cut out for this kind of thing, while many like Layla, Kelly, Tiffany aren't cut out toe ever be wrestlers. Give her time she's surpass Layla and Kelly.

Although she will never reach Alicia & Maryse, they are imrpoving, she's improving, unless she improves twice as fast, all of them are imrpoving in about the same speed.

Yeah probably true, but what Eve lacks, Maryse has and the other way around. They balans each other out, which is why i always thought a feud between the two could always work.

I love her physique and though she wasn't completely wow'd me, I like her and do belive she may be one of the divas to watch out for, she may even be MARKable material in 2011.

She USED to be overhyped when they kept making news about her being the best and bla bla bla...

But now that she isn't doing shit, well that ain't overhyping somebody so right now she is... THE FUTURE!

See this is the thing that makes me laugh. People whine when all the divas have the same movesets with the same generic finishers, or doing hurracaranas all the time and stuff. Now Eve does unique somersault flips for a diva, and uses the moonsault (which noone else in WWE uses), and apparently its too 'flashy'.
