Any of you ever been in FOSTER CARE?

Reason I'm asking is because I was just hating on a idol contestant for using the excuse that he was moved around all his life, 25 different homes to be exact! I should have known better because I was in foster care when I was 4/5 years old! It really was the worst expierence of my life, my mom was serving time and I and my brother were put in foster care. I had abusive foster parents and hating on that Idol contestant just brought up bad memories for me. I just feel bad because he might have went through the same thing! I just thank god that my grandma took me and my brother in... I blocked so many things out of my head, I barely remember my childhood (pre 5 years old) because of this!

Are any of you foster children? Did you have great foster parents?

nope but my mom always threatened to put me up for adoption. i'd call her bluff, but then she'd back down because my grandma would kick her ass if she tried...

I'm sorry Blue, thats really unfortunate. I like to think of the positives of such harsh experiences, such as the person you have become today. Without these experiences, you may not have had the great personality you do, and be as nice and understand as you are, for a guy.

aww my nephew was a preemie. He's still a bit underweight for his age but he's healthy atleast.

i have an older lady at my school whos a student, she blocked out a lot of memories when she was younger but ended up writing a book when she went to a physiologist who helped her gain back her memory. maybe u should try that blue.

Well my mum worked at a childrens home, it was so amazing and the foster parents were such great people. I consider it a highlight of my life to have helped there with the kids and stuff.

The kids there usually had abusive parents or parents who couldn't afford to raise a child or wasn't capable too.


Lol and i wasn't a preemie, but i was pretty darn underweight. I was sooooo skinny. My grandmother advised my parents not to send me to preschool because it looked like i could fall apart. Now, i deal with weight issues, i'm not fat, but i worry, everyday of gaining weight. I just have issues with it lol. My mom always told me she's gonna show my doctor the kid who was immensly underweight when he was born lol. My mom could't really hold me for days, that's how underweight i was.
