The Obama thread

So how does everyone feel about our first black president Barock Obama? I think he is doing a good job so far as our president.I hope that one day I can meet him and shake his hand.

Let's just be happy he isn't getting mad and turning in to The Rock Obama. (Although I think he would be better effective as The Rock Obama lol) And no I don't hate Obama I actually glad he is president XD

too early to judge..he's only been in office 1 year. but so far, i'm not at all disappointed in voting for him like i did.

It's like basketball. you dont decide in the 1st quarter whether you can win or lose the game. you atleast get to the 3rd quarter to decide if all hope is lost.

it's just the beginning of year 2 for Obama so i wouldnt say he's failing nor would i say he's been doing an awesome job. He's doing what he can and things take time. I still think voting for him was a good choice, though.

He's doing a terrible job, look at all the shit he promised he would do and he hasn't done any of it. I guess he's better than Bush though

I dont follow this Presidant stuff, never have but someone please inform me how he is doing a terrible job. I just need a better understanding.

Because he promised to take out taxes and provide health care and start taking soldiers out of Iraq......he has not done one yet, but thats not really his fault. Every politician lies to get the top spot, that's how it works. Actually doing what they promise would be a shock.

It's not that he lied. He may be president but even the president has rules. He can't just go and do something and that's it, it has to go through the court system and blah blah blah.

So technically he couldn't do those 3 examples you gave with-in the one year. He needs to state his case to the congress and all that stuff then and only then if the congress accepts then it can be done.

Who ever though that the president can do whatever he wants and whenever he wants wasn't thinking straight. He's trying to do what he promised just give it time.

Well my comment was more directed to you cause of your "every politician lies to get to the top" statement. Nothing too serious just thought I'd let you know how the government runs -- We can't just call him a lier cause we don't know yet but if nothing happens and his term in office in over then I guess it becomes a fact more than anything lol.

But yeah we can't really make accusations until his term is over or until his actions speak otherwise.

The Presidential Elections 2008, whoever wins, he's screwed.

That should have been the official motto of the election, because everything was going to hell in a handbasket, our nation was in debt up to our eyeballs and people swore that America was going to turn into the wastelands from The Road Warrior. So with the new elections, everyone expected the new president to come in and magically fix everything within days, I swear, it was like people expected us to be out of debt, gas would go back down to 25 cents, and we would have jobs on every corner; but that didn't happen and
I kid you not, people were already bitching three months after Obama was sworn in as the new president because things were still the same. I honestly think he's doing the best with what he has to deal with.

I know about the government; the difference is you care and I DONT...it's foolish to trust the government or any for that matter-they're futile. no matter the intentions, it never turns out well for the people...only the politicians

I hate how the world made it such a big deal that he's black, who gives a shit. He hasn't done SHIT for this country. He knows how to talk, but hasn't ACTUALLY done anything. Though, if he does, then hey, I will be proven wrong, but I expect nothing good from him. We havn't had a good president in years.

It's been a year, he's trying hard given what he had to deal with (Economic crisis, war, national debt...so on.), I don't think any other president had to inherit the mess that he has. Like many presidents before him, he came in with an idea of what he wanted to do, but it's not like he could make those changes within a year without first fixing the problems that we're going through...I mean, that would be like adding on a room to a burning house. I have no doubt that if McCain had won, he would have the same problems on his plate, when you have so many major problems to deal with along with the big two (Dems and Repubs) constantly working against one other, rather than working together with the president in order to make the country better for it's citizens; you're going to have to go to hell and back before you can get anything done.

tbh i think a lot of the issues we have now are from the rep party. they would rather get rich from the drug,oil,ect companies then worry about the less rich people in the company

A man gets "voted into office" does an atrocious job in a four year span, then is awarded another four years at the helm and does just as bad. A new President takes over and throughout his first year people have stabbed at him from every angle. The big ass trainwreck that is the United States at the moment wasn't going to be fixed in just a year's time. People need to stop bitching and go suck a dick! And sadly you have those who want to make this into a race-related issue - those people can also suck on one!
