Olivia Wilde (“Alpha Dog”) will play the female lead in director Jon Favreau’s “Cowboys and Aliens”. She’s of course joined by Daniel Craig, who it was announced last week would be replacing Robert Downey Jr as the film’s dusty-hatted hero, Zeke Jackson, a gunslinger attempting to save the planet from an alien invasion.
Wilde, who got her break playing the bisexual bartender on TV soap “The OC”, will play a character named Ella in the Bob Orci/Alex Kurtzman-penned picture, says THR.
"Cowboys and Aliens" is based on a graphic novel by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and tells of an extraterrestrial species that lands in Arizona in the mid-1800s. The aliens plan to quash the Wild West and enslave humanity, but the cowboys and native Apache have other plans.
