Director Jon Favreau has confirmed rumours that screen legend Harrison Ford is set to star in "Cowboys vs. Aliens".
The "Iron Man 2" director tweeted today : "Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in 'Cowboys & Aliens.' Okay? He is. Please don't tell anybody."
The film, based on a comic series about cowboys and Indians teaming up to take on alien invaders, also stars Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde ("Tron Legacy
").
The flick marks Ford's return to Blockbusters - the types of films he's tended to shy away from in recent years, opting instead to do smaller films like "Extraordinary Measures", "Crossing Over" and "Random Hearts". But with Ford's most successful film of the past ten years being "Indiana Jones
and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (2008) seems either he - or his handlers - thought it'd be a good idea if he did anything prospective money-maker.
"Cowboys vs. Aliens" is scheduled for release on July 29th 2011.
