Steven Spielberg is rumored to be directing Robopocalypse, based on Daniel H. Wilson's comic, which deals with the human race's struggle against a robot uprising.
Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer Drew Goddard, who also wrote the script for Cloverfield, is rumored to be drafting a new screenplay for Spielberg, Deadline Hollywood reports:
Wilson hasn't finished the book yet, but word is Goddard has gotten underway and that it's a serious candidate. Let's face it, a big ticket Spielberg-directed tent pole would be a smashing way to start DreamWorks' new partnership with Reliance.
We'd pay a dollar to see that, wouldn't you?
Goddard also directed The Cabin in the Woods, a twisted horror movie he co-wrote with his former Buffy boss Joss Whedon.
