Former IC Champion Headed to TNA?

The Observer is also reporting that TNA has expressed interest in signing former WWE IC Champion and recently released star Shelton Benjamin. With his former tag team partner Charlie Haas a free agent as well, there has been talk of possibly re-uniting "The World's Greatest Tag Team" in TNA with Kurt Angle as the group's mentor.

LAME idea. Just let these guys do their own thing as singles stars or as a tag team, just keep Kurt away. What's the point in doing the mentor thing when they have been around for quite a while now?

That will be awesome for them both, but without Kurt.

What? What mistake? Other than his athletic ability, there isn't much else to him. He's the same guy that we've been seeing since his earlier years in the company.

its sports entertainment, both WWE and TNA are more sports entertainment oritentated, TNA i would say is less focussed on it, but since Hogan and Bischoff id have to say they are.
So even though Benjamin is as talented a wrestler as he is, he is boring as shit, hes had countless chances to show that he can get some form of personality, show that he has improved in other areas like mic skills and shit, more chances then a lot of others, and he failed everytime
tbh this isnt a mistake by WWE, its a blessing for them, they have gotten rid of someone who would never make it, in place of some NXT ppl who have more of a chance.
Daniel Bryan is more talented then Benjamin, and to me own pleasant surprise has more of a personality...so he is a perfect replacement, just as Evan Bourne is a perfect replacement for the MITB

This makes mr think of Carlito. Here's a guy who's better all around, and much like Shelton; there's always been a missing element form him.

deffo for Shelton is was a character worth staying awake for
and Carlito it was his lazyness and unwillingness to try, and instead the feel that he deserves to have things just given to him

the only probelm is that a majority of WWE fans dont care for athleticism...same for TNA fans.

I'm one of the few who does..which is why i love shelton...he can be as bland as the color white, he's still one of my favorites and I love his matches. he doesnt need crazy charisma to keep me entertained.

I mark every time he jumps to the top rope from the mat...looks awesome each time I see it.

as do most of the wrestling fans out there...and there's nothing wrong with it.

it just means that people like Shelton will have a hard time making it in any company. Although I think if they had kept WGTT together, he would've had a better chance at being more successful. WWE ruined a good thing by breaking them up.

Yeah, he usually does put on good matches. But, when people complain that he isn't being pushed, is it any wonder?! WWE has, in large part, always been big on big personalities and if you can wrestling, it's a bonus. Take benoit for example: he wasn't the greatest on the mic, but, he always did well enough imo to sell a story. Whaen I watch Shelton I just think, "dude, stick to wrestling and stay away from the mic." lol

now for me i never saw the reasons why Eddie or Benoit got pushed but looking back, they could tell a good story, well Benoit could, Eddie was always decent on the mic, but i couldnt help but find him more comical then anything

i always thought Shelton needed a manager. Get the right manager to handle the talking, and he can pick up the slack with his ability.

LL alluded to this earlier: take some time to improve you skills, and he apparently didn't... AT ALL! lmao

Everyone gets mic time eventually and it wasn't as if he was getting a lot of it, which was good. When they gave him the US title, he could've had more time on the mic and probably could've been put in better angles, but, Shelton is so limited... they couldn't even if they tried.

I find myself agreeing with Vixen here, it's not Shelton's fault he sucks on the mic (and imo he isn't all that bad but its not like my opinion matters right?) All Benjy needed was a manager to be his mouth piece, there is no excuse as to why WWE didn't push him to the top just like there is no excuse why they won't push MVP (and he actually can talk on the mic)

TNA will definitely push him, I can see him getting a Elijah Burke type push after a while but first I want the best tag team ever to work matches with the guns, Beer Money and LAX

well Shelton did need a manager, but WWE failed to really invest in him that way. So they kept putting him on the mic knowing he's bland as all hell. It surely wasnt helping him endear himself to the fans. I just dont see what would've been so wrong about atleast trying it with him. Find a diva with some natural charisma and there you go.

Recently, I've always thought him and Alicia would be a good pair. Fued with Rosa/Ryder. Intergender fueds are something else I would like WWE to bring back.

but the sport of wrestling has moved on from having managers, a decade or two a go, you have near enough every wrestler having a manager, now theres only a handful, and even then they arent mouth pieces, but manager or not, i stiil dont find Benjamin interesting
