Over The Limit Preview:Divas Championship

Former Divas Champion and notoriously conceited Canadian Maryse will face reigning champion Eve in the hope of recapturing the butterfly title at Over the Limit.

These dueling Divas have never exactly been the best of friends, but their recent animosity toward one another can likely be traced back to the April 12 edition of Raw, when Eve, thanks in large part to her Jiu-Jitsu training, defeated the trash-talker to capture the Divas Championship, the first title of her career.

Maryse has tormented the Divas Champion for the past few weeks, but perhaps the most underhanded move by the narcissistic ne’er-do-well came during the May 3 edition of Raw. Maryse shocked the WWE Universe by not only brutally attacking the Divas Champion during a photo shoot, but then posing for glamour shots over her fallen foe after the fact. While Eve confronted her later that night, Maryse had taken their contention to a never-before-seen level.

With Maryse evidently studying Jiu-Jitsu (or at least a form of the martial art that incorporates groin kicks and pepper spray), Eve might have her hands even more full than expected when she defends her title at Over the Limit this Sunday, only on pay-per-view.

i read a comment somewhere which i thought was a good idea, to really take the feud to another sort of level, basically have the match begin with a few lock ups and shit, and then have Maryse like leave the ring, Eve come after and then .... eh basically just have a No Contest due to their hatred...and have them brawl to the back....but that would be pretty bad also, as it just prooves that PPV matches arent diva standards

Why are you not giving them chance? Instead you are moaning that it will be bad when you havent even seen it yet and how do you know Eve will botch? I hope it is a good match, and they get 7min I hope Maryse acutally wrestles in this match, and Eve will do some other moves apart from a dropkick. I'm enjoying this fued and I hope Eve wins

Because......that's how some people are, very open minded.

Eve has botched a few times and the fact she ran right into the ropes on live tv is another reason Mintz & I have little faith in her.

and I just find Eve to be incredibly overrated and as much as I cant stand Melina...I would pay good money to see Melina destroy her on live tv.

Eve has no fluidity, she is slow and is quite robotic with her moves, there are times where shes not ready to go onto the next step, like someone noticed in the match last night, Layla was waiting to connect the kick that Eve blocked into the drop, and Eve took what seems like forever in wrestling standards to think of her next move

i wasnt acutally hating, i was pointing out something she needs to work on
i actually am starting to like her...mainly because her and maryse have got me a little faith in the raw devision

WWE are making a effort and the girls aren't diappointing (except the lame catfights) but everything has been pretty good so far, no real complaints.

the lame catfight was awsome...its the best we can hope for with the divas as of right now, and they always seem to work well and make a point

i have many reasons why I hate her, Blue...but hell even Rosa can get in the ring properly.

Eve is boring and bland. her in ring work looks way too rehearsed like she's followng dancesteps. you can almost see her counting in her head "ok 1..2..3.."

I never noticed that but to each there own I guess, her dropkicks suck and she runs low on stamina, other then that she is pretty decent

Layla is also a dancer but she is so fluid in her movements that it just baffles me when i see Eve wrestling.

I just find it funny that we have seen people with twice as much experience as Eve, make the same mistakes and don't get shit on constantly. Champion or not, people make mistakes.

And lol at Vix bringing up her going into the ropes, while Sarita did almost the same thing just last week. And sad Part Sarita almost hooked her leg into the ropes as well, which could have caused her to fall flat on her face.

I expect mess ups from Eve, she isn't going to have any flawless matches anytime soon. It's just a common fact, she isn't ready to carry a division. That has been clear.

But i don't see the point in nit picking, saying "LMAO Eve ran straight into the ropes" is funny, it's obvious and relevant. But it's becomming to the point where people are actualy sitting down and pointing out every single mess up to the point where it will turn into "OMG look at that, she flipper her hair with her left and not her right hand, hahaha"....

I just find it funny people, and i see it happening to Layla as well, i don't like Layla as champ and i expect her to mess up. Like i could say how she has probably done the worse impression of missing the leg drop i've ever seen, because she fell on her ass and even if who ever was taking the move didn't move out the way, the wouldn't have gotten hit anyways because layla's legs never connected to the floor anyways. And that's called being picky, which isn't needed.

But meh, that's how things are, and i just gotta live with it.

But that's where Layla loses points with me, she is horrible in transitions, to the point where i could see she is a dancer. Because it comes off as choreographed. I think it was the Tiffany & Kelly vs. Michelle & Layla match where she was kicked and had to turn so kelly could enter by flipping over her and she turned and actually prepared herself for it and i was like

That has been her issue from the get go, her transition into other spots are just horrible. She is more fluid then she used to be in her execution, but her transitions has been chaotic from the get go, to te point where i feel she shouldn't be making these kind of rookie mistkaes with the amount of times she has been in the ring. But she still has that one kink. Thus far, Layla and Kelly are two who come off the most choreographed out of all the girls, Layla with her transitions and Kelly with her execution.

Sarita has 3 times more experience then Eve, championships mean nothing. Cheerleader Melissa has won 2 championships her entire wrestling career and both are from practically extra small promotions.Guess she is allowed to make as much mistakes as she wants? While we should banish Trish the god knows how many times Women's champion for simply tripping on the steps during her entrance???? OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!

It was funny, but it could happen to anyone. Would it be less funny if she WASN'T champion? I think not. It's still look the same stupid, and i'd get the same laugh out of it.

i always wondered how much time do they get to prepare for something new. for me, I'd want as much practice as I could squeeze in if I was trying something new.

eh i aint bothered much i have noticed Laylas transition can be off...but her execution is almost spot on, but she is learning herself...but as i said id rather save a spot and look rehearsed then be sponteanious and fuck the spot up....

Nah, watching someone preparing themselves for something kinda makes me want turn my TV off. "Ok she's gonna flip over me, back straight, hold on tighly to the ropes, open legs so i could have firm grip on the floor, ok ready now flip*....it's like.....ehh i don't buy it sorry, better luck next time.

Lol Blue, Maryse owns Eve with charisma, looks, and she can get in the ring just fine. I think Eve is the one who needs the one move of doom because even the moves she does don't even look that great.

And thank you Vix. I don't see why anyone would want to think this match will turn out good after Eve and Maryse's sloppy encounters already. It's just screaming disaster yet for some reason they still decided to put the match on ppv. I'm happy I'm not ordering it as well

For someone who states that shes a passionate divas supporter and complains when Michelle McCool could have possibly became a three time womens champion, you sure don't mind the same thing happening for Maryse becoming a three times diva's champion...Who like Michelle on Smackdown, has been the sole hog of the title and the title picture on Raw.

Maryse's reigns have been nothing but lackluster. Her first divas title reign was shaping to be good, then she gets injured and returns and does just about nothing. Don't even get me started on her third...

So i'd really like to know how her third is going to be better? Melina is rumored to return to Smackdown, so who will there be to fued with? The Bellas? Eve again? Natalya? Nope shes managing. Or how about Gail Kim? Not gonna happen. It will be like the second, uneventful due to credible challengers. Eve however has Jillian and Alicia to fued with, both of whom are fresh to the divas title picture. Give one of them the title and introduce Gail or something. Either way, fresher than another Maryse reign. The way I see it, why throw the title on someone and improve their number of reigns when they shouldn't have the title, when you can have someone in their first reign at least have a decent one.

Also, why should the title go back to the person who just lost it two weeks ago? Many on this forum complains when Michelle does this to Mickie, yet apparently supports Maryse doing it. Huh?

Maryse lost it over a month ago so I don't know where you get this two week bullshit and no one knows for sure if Melina is going back to SD because as you just said, that's a RUMOR. If she's staying on Raw then Maryse will get it back. I'd rather watch her one move of doom than see Eve botch time after time and I can take Maryse a little more seriously as champ than Eve.

Eve wouldn't be feuding with Jillian because they don't give a shit about her and Alicia is in her own little feud with Gail so she won't be feuding with her either. It's kinda obvious that Maryse is getting that belt back no matter what so why not Sunday?

I think WWE is still on this silly little Eve-high and they will let her retain Sunday.

getting in and out of the ring and running face first into the bright ass ropes are 2 different things.

even someone like Cena could trip getting in and out of the ring.

but who runs face first into the ropes which are clearly right in front of you....at semi full speed because when Eve runs she always appears to be in slow motion.

what was Eve looking at exactly for her to completely be unaware the ropes are in front of her? or maybe she is just blind?

I'm sorry but I've seen more passion that has come from Maryse than I've seen from Eve in the past and I never even said I was a fan of Maryse's. At least Maryse has an entertaining gimmick and doesn't bore me like Eve does. I'm a fan of women who can wrestle and that sure as hell isn't Eve no matter how badly you think otherwise. No one will sit there and try to tell me how passionate I am about women's wrestling. Just because I don't like Eve doesn't mean you can sit there and attack me like that, X.

Also, I rarely even watch TNA so I could care less about Madison, I'm not a fan of hers either though if you want to go that route.

but Maryse has charisma...eve doesnt. so maryse gets the point there.

Maryse has a character...eve doesnt. maryse gets another point.

neither of them are great in the ring but Maryse has atleast 1 move whereas Eve botches alot. so i'm guessing mintz will slightly give maryse the point there.

Maryse has one move and has had that once move since coming back from injury, she sucks!

Eve has a actual moveset (and a exciting one to boot)

For the record, i was an Eve fan prior to any mmoonsaults being done, i liked her look, she had a good strong, athletic looking body and seemed promising. Just throwing that out there, because any monkey who can do flip can do a moonsault....i can do a standing moonsault for christ sake

moonsaults arent that hard to do.

most peeps in wrestling schools learn moonsaults within a week or 2.

just like Lita...everyone was "omg she did a moonsault"...it was meh to me..what i loved about her was her willingness to do crazy ass spots. I thought she was fucking crazy but I loved her.
