Monday’s Raw saw Eve Torres become the No. 1 contender to Alicia Fox’s Divas Championship as a result of her victory over Maryse. Immediately following the bout, Howard Finkel expressed his displeasure with the Raw Divas division, but more specifically, Torres.

“I have had it with the Raw Diva division,” the WWE Hall of Famer remarked during the live Raw chat on WWEUniverse.com. He added, “I DO NOT hate Divas…..I am not a fan of who is the # 1 contender.”

– At the July 6 Friday Night SmackDown television taping, WWE ran a vignette before the Atlanta crowd introducing a new Diva by the name of AJ Lee. The vignette, however, was cut from the broadcast. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a decision was made to introduce one new character at a time — currently Alberto Del Rio — thus explaining why vignettes introducing Lee have yet to surface. Once Del Rio makes his official debut in WWE, the promotion of Lee will commence.

Lee, who’s real name is believed to be April Jeanette, is 23 years old and has been under contract to World Wrestling Entertainment since May 2009. At 5 foot 2 and 99 pounds, she is the smallest female performer affiliated
with either major wrestling organization. Prior to joining WWE, Lee worked independent wrestling shows throughout the Northeast. She has been competing professionally since September 2007.

This still seems pretty good...When was the last time a new diva got vigilletes? I gotta say, I hope Aj gets a push, she seems like she could become quite popular easy if given the chance.

I know I just hope her size doesn't make it an issue.

I don't recall any vignettes either for new divas. I guess they just do it when they feel like it.

well as far as i was aware theyve filmed them, they show them at the SD tapings...but they just get cut from final edits

Id love to see AJ get called up, shes good. I just dont want her to get buried by Lay Cool though, thats what Im worried about.

I'm suprised he hasn't been fired for some of the commentary his done during the matches in the Live Chat. He is rude to some people as well.

90% of the Divas in the compay suck ass so I don't see what Mr. Finkel is upset about; it's just another fact of life in the WWE.

I love how everyone is saying Tiffany isn't ready yet they want a rather bland unknown green wrestler debut and win it in no time. Tiffany is mor established then AJ Lee, so i don't see the hype about AJ

I just said McCool because that is realistic.

And AJ has already had pushes in FCW [was Queen of FCW] and she had that WSU belt. So imo that should make her more prepared. I don't even really expect her to get it but I would rather have that then Kelly for sure and Tiffany is a maybe for me.

Umm Sunny had the WU women's championship and not the tag team Championship like AJ lee, does that mean she could come up and be champion?

I like AJ, but the girl is green and innexperienced, making her champions would just be making the same mistake TNA made in Making Madison Rayne Champion, she just isn't ready and will fail, and she might end up with a Gail Kim career, Gail Kim was pushed, she messed up in her first 3/4 matches and WWE axed her and toke the championship off her, i really don't want to see AJ go down the same path, when she clearly isn't ready.

I have watched a ton of her matches in FCW and I think she is decent.

Sure I didn't say she should win it right away like Gail but Layla has to lose the belt eventually because I don't see her keeping it all the way until Beth comes back.

That could be 3-5 months from now so Oct-Dec. Does anyone really see wwe letting Layla hold onto the belt for 5-7 months? I just think they will have her lose it in a month or so but you never know maybe they will keep her as champ since McCool unofficially has it as well..?

AJ's wrestling is fine, never said she was bad. And you said it yourself, she's "decent", Layla is "decent", Tiffany is "decent", Kelly is 'decent", the bella's, Eve, Maryse, Alicia are "decent", how many "decent" wrestlers do we really need on the main roster?

AJ hasn't developed anything personality wise down in FCW, same thing they did with Shantelle Taylor, the girl was sick in the ring, did things no one ever saw, but she still had no personality. The girl just needs to stay down in FCW, perfect her skills (dunno how she can do so with the shitty talent they have down there) and work on expressing some personality. I would like a good or even a great wrestler get called up, not a "decent" one, we have enough 'decent" talent on the main roster and they aint doing shit for me.

i agree with you. AJ Lee is quite bland...and Taylor was also very bland...well still is..i find Sarita to be bland too...so the fued aint that appealing other then match quality

That is where the problem is. She's the best wrestler in FCW, and she's wrestled on the indy scene so people think she is automatically good (not saying that she isn't), i could be the fastest runner in a group of people in a wheelchair, does that make me pro? No it doesn't. AJ Lee may be good, but the talent in FCW is so shitty, she looks Like Sara Del Rey next to them. That's what people needs to stop doing. Don't judge her by the talent around her, just her for her own talent. She's still pretty new to the biz and is gaining experience herself, which is why IMO 6/7 more month in FCW could do her some real good.

And the whole "oh she's a wrestler, she is from the indy", Velvet sky wrestled on the indy scene, infact she wrestled there for about 7 to 8 years. Now she's not that great now is she? shifty

and for the record Tiffany has Charisma, more so then any girl on the damn roster, she just had too damn much. She looks like she takes a redbull before coming out to the ring. Tiffany, Eve, Alicia, & Maryse entertains me more so then Kelly (because she is a bore fest) or Layla (Becuase i think she over does it) or Michelle (who i believe should just break both her legs like tonight). SO when it comes to character & personality, it is all about taste. Which is why i never mentioned that shifty

as in her Speaking and Acting, she hasn't done any of that at all in FCW and there is where the problem is. They concentrate soooo much on the wrestling that no one cares about them because they don't show any sign of emotion. It's like "oh she's in pain......and dunno

Yes, she could use the in ring training, but most of her flaws are when it comes to things other then wrestling. Which won't work too much in her favor.
