WWE RELEASES SMACKDOWN DIVA

WWE has released Smackdown Diva Serena, who just made her official in-ring debut last Friday. I haven't heard anything further as of this writing.

SD is running out of divas.

I oddly think wwe fired her because she probably didn't stay in character and drinked at bars.

Wasn't expecting that at all, but I'm not surprised.

Well I could now understand why the WWE released her. She's like the best wrestler right after Beth, Natalya, Gail & Jillian.....and no one gives a fuck as we can see.

yep she got released because she didn't keep the straight edge gimmick in public. i guess a warning was too much for them

like NEXUS not being allowed to sign autographs
they got really anoyed when Taker and McCools wedding photos were leaked, as it broke the kayfabe that Taker was a vegtable
so Serena going out drinking breaks the kayfabe that she is straight edge

what i really dont understand is why they needed to release her completely, suspend her or something, or do what they already did, and make it part of the storyline...there wasnt a need to actually release her

Both are highly regarded in the company by management right now, so that wouldn't happen.

AGREED with the above statements from Dead and Kev. About Kev's comment I been saying that all along. Its crazy people ONLY mark for these "models" and still bitch about the divison and why it sucks so bad. They need to look in the damn mirror.

That sucks. I think its stupid to release her becasue she wasnt living her gimmick. She has A REAL life and she is a REAL Person. It sucks to see a person with talent get fired like that.

She did a great job on her match on SD Friday night. Its sad that it will be her last one.

I wish her the best of luck, I hope she has a great career, shes still young.

is WWE have been sour on Mickie for like more then a year...they didnt like her weight, they didnt like her lazyness in the ring....and all the partying and being late shit was the last straw

McCool and Melina are the top divas...so if they did a little thing, they would more then likely escape with no punishment at all

neither of them were fired for it...London was just "disciplined" but still kept his job. WWE going to the extreme once again.

My guess is they expect her to know with how they treat all there roster. I mean upset over mccool and takers wedding photos being leaked. They probably had to worry about fans taking pictures with her at bars and stuff. my guess is it was just easier to cut the loss instead of them having to worry about her not doing what is expected.

well yeah. i mean its a case of ppl like Kane and Taker being so respected in the back that if they were seen outside of their gimmick, it wouldnt affect them. Lets also not forget that being a "deadman" or a "monster" is a hard gimmick to maintain in a real life situation....so WWE will be obviously more leiniant with things like that...where as not drinking (unless you have an alcyhol problem) is something ANYONE can maintain...its a case of not putting alychol in your mouth

Vix made a great point in saying that not everyone picks up on subtitle messages. Unless they approached her about the issue, then they weren't helping. Plus, everyone knows that WWE likes to sell kayfabe as LL alluded to, if they're was a conversation with someone one from management about the drinking - don't you think their should have been mention of this?!

I not trying to deflect any blame away from her, it just doesn't seem like they did much to help the situation.

That is a possibility... she was relatively new. She wasn't even in the company a full year.

I'm sure she was told to cut the shit. That's just proper business. But it doesn't look good in a statement. "Well we told her to stop and it persisted so we got rid of her."

They didn't have to say that at all - I'm not even talking about statement release. I'm talking about the what lead up to her being fired.

They did that with Mickie, too. All the fat jokes and promos about her weight with LayCool.

But it's not entirely WWE's fault here. Serena should know a little better than to go around publicly drinking when her fucking gimmick is the polar opposite.

with Mickie they confronted her 1 year prior to the Piggy James storyline about her weight. Mickie cussed out management in that meeting. She said so herself..so she was well aware they were unhappy. She didnt care. She was comfortable with herself and highly upset WWE was implying she was fat..

then came the Piggy James angle...but Mickie was already aware of WWE's feelings.


i'm not saying this is WWE's fault entirely. I'm just saying if they never came right out and told her "ok you're in SES, stop drinking for storyline purposes." then i think her firing was premature. She should've been given a warning or something.

Serena's sudden release from World Wrestling Entertainment is being compared to Mickie James' dismissal from the organization earlier this year as both involved matters concerning behavioral problems on the road.

Serena had been warned several times by management to tighten up her road behavior as she was putting her job at risk. It ultimately reached a point where WWE had no choice but to let her go, just as a big push was planned no less. It should be noted that paparazzi photos of Serena out in Hollywood walking to a nightclub recently surfaced online.

It is said that the episode of WWE SmackDown! in which Serena was caught drinking alcohol at a bar was designed to send a message to her. An irate CM Punk immediately chastised her following the airing of the video, but she was forgiven the following week. Luke Gallows, however, refused to follow suit and walked out on his fellow Straight Edge Society members.

News of her departure from WWE is being kept under wraps internally, but an announcement is expected to be made this weekend after WWE SmackDown! airs on Friday. The show was taped last Wednesday in California.

Sorry they were asking way too much of a 24 year old girl who should be enjoying life now. I know her character is straight edge and all, BUT she is 24, if Kelly could get away with peeing in a sink....i don't see why she should get released

Well, there ya go... she was in fact warned about her behavior. This makes her look even worse than Mickie because the drinking was the only issue. Like I said before: if WWE hadn't spoke withher about it then they weren't doing much about it... key word was if.

and the reason Kelly gets away with Kev...is cos Kellys gimmick isnt of a straight edge person...like Serenas

age has nothing to do with anything in WWE...its a buisness that wants to make kayfabe seem real....and also if WWE isnt your main focus then your in the wrong company anyway...and if she is being told to not do something, then she shouldnt do it

In my opinion, this is a bigger loss than when Mickie James was released. Serena is probably one of the top women in the country and she only got one match. All I have to say is WWE creative is stupid.

I would love for Serena to show up in TNA. This would allow her to continue her work with Shimmer and she would still be able to be on TV.
