Back to School!

Since school time has rolled around I figured I would post and see who all is going back to school soon or who has already went back.

Feel free to share your schedule so we can see what all classes you have. If you've already went back give some thoughts on your first day back or give thoughts on your return in the future. (:

Today, August 30th, 2010, was my last first day. I am now a senior at my high school. My day went great. I started out in Homeroom which we had over an hour in due to back to school stuff and a meeting, same will be for tomorrow as well. So the school ran on a one hour delay schedule. I had a senior meeting during that time. Afterwards I was off to Statistics. I have it in distance learning, meaning another school is connected with us. Lucky for me the teacher is on my side of the camera. So anyway that teacher is really confusing. Before she starts teaching she tells us if we want an easier class that we can take it with a different math teacher. So during the notes and such they make an announcement for students last names A-M to come to guidance if we need schedule changes. My last name starts with an H and my cousins starts with an A. So she turns around and looks at me and says; "Let's go". So me and her go to guidance. There was a line. We waited forever and after an hour of waiting we finally got waited on. By this time 2nd block had already begun. So anyway we got our teacher changed and went to class. 2nd block I have Principles of Business. I didn't have alot of time left because of the scheduling so anyway got that class then went to lunch. After lunch it was off to Anatomy/Biology 2. Well let's just say I love this class. Even though it's mainly for people going into the medical field, I love it. The teacher said she is going to get with a hospital and we are going to sit over top of a surgery room and watch a doctor perform surgery on a patient. We are also going to a place and look at body parts[of dead people]. Then I went to Design, MultiMedia, Web[DMW]. That was boring. Worked on powerpoint stuff which I already know how to do. So that's how my day went. I rode with my cousin and she dropped me off at my house, same as she picks me up in the morning. So I watched for my bus to come by, last year my bus came by at 3:45 to drop off....this year.... 4:15! That is freakin' crazy. There is no sense in that either! And the new bus driver, who isn't new but is new to this route, decided to change the route by giving another drive one of the roads, but hey, why warn people about it? Oh probably because people were going crazy trying to find their kids who they thought were lost! Which pretty much were! I'm also filing a complaint about my new driver for speeding up and down this road. (: But that's how my day went!

i'm a college student and i have 2 classes a day, 4 days a week.

but i am on a 2 week break so i dont go back till september 6th.

I love my light schedule. I can sleep in till like 12 if i wanted to lol

Your day sounded long Travis! At least you seem happy with some of your classes <3 That's something I dreaded (especially boring ones LIKE MATH!) lol

How does that schedule not give you much free time? Lol.

Im gonna start uni on the first of Oct in UK..Im still not nervous yet..but I know Im gonna be when the times come to leave. :p

That's not true, in Aruba Summer starts around 3rd/6th of July and end around 16th/17th/18th of august. Which is believe is the shortest summer vacation ever.

In the US, kids who start in August get out in May and kids who start in September get out in June. Either way it's a good 10 months of school.

I guess it's because we get WAY to many days in the year lol. In Aruba it's sunny 80% of the year or rainy 20%. Yet we get a week off for the "Fall", 2 weeks off at Christmas (From Dec. 16th to Jan 5th) and in the spring we get a week and a half. hence why our summer vacation is so short lol. Not including all the free days in between. We actualy had a whole lot of long weekends on Aruba lol.

And here in holland, we have 4 periods of 10 weeks, after every period we get a week off. (well except the second, we get 2 weeks off for christmas). which is actually the same as in Aruba.....wait yeah scratch that, it's the same, just varies in what week lol

You may want to make that 4. I intend to leave my High School at the end of the year if I get into Uni.



I've been back for about 3 weeks (I went back on the 17th August) and I have every lesson, every day.

Here's my timetable (each lesson is 55 minutes (50 after lunch), break is 15 and lunch is an hour):

Monday:
Physics, German, Break, Maths, History, Lunch, English, Buddy (I go and help out a German class)
Tuesday:
Physics, History, Break, German, English, Lunch, PSE, Maths
Wednesday:
English, PE, Break, History, German, Lunch, Maths, Physics
Thursday:
German, Maths, Break, Study, Physics, Lunch, English, History
Friday:
Maths, PE, Break, English, History, Lunch, Physics, German

I also have Registration first thing which is 10 minutes.

Also, somewhere in there, from October to December I'm doing an intesive 3-month Open University Course in Music.

Thats a day that starts at 8:45am and ends at 3:30pm. I have to get up at 7am each morning because I live over a mile away from the school and have to walk.

Funny Story, i was searching through my papers and for the last 3 weeks i've been sure i'm starting on the 6th.....turns out...I'm starting on the 10th.......that would have been on fun monday mornin

I've already said I'm intending to leave school this year. :D

But i did receive my first Diploma in 2004, i was 16.

HOLY SHIT...that's 6 years ago.

I'm supposed to get my MBO Niv. 3 Next year
And then my MBO Niv.4 in 2012.
Guess I'll be going to a "college" in 2012..... I don't know how the dutch system works compared to the US

I started college a couple weeks ago. I'm only taking two classes this semester because I didn't want to over do it.

College Reading And Study Skills on Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 6:40

Elementary Algebra on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 8:50

Both are night classes. I'm loving it so far and I really love my teachers.
