Highs

Eve:
I want to start with her because she has been one of the best things about this year. I was a little annoyed that WWE decided to push her instead of Gail Kim but Raw's division was brilliant during her push. Her winning the Divas' title without much fanfare or build up was a little annoying but she got the title off Maryse so that was a plus. When I saw her match at Over the Limit, Eve really impressed me and she is now one of my favourites. She has had solid matches with the likes of Maryse and Alicia as well as both members of LayCool. I watched the Raw divas for her rather than out of habit. I hope WWE continues to push her in the future.

Layla:
I always liked Layla but I never thought she'd last. This year has been brilliant for her; LayCool have been built up so well and she has really shined. Last year she was very much the sidekick but now she is as prominent as Michelle. While she's got character and charisma her ring work has also improved quite a lot. She still has some problems but her wrestling is now a lot better than it was last year. I think that if she was turned face she would be incredibly over with the fans.

Michelle McCool:
Last year she was shoved down our throats and was quite bland and generic. Now she has character to go with her brilliant ring skills. She has a real gift for comedy and I really can't get enough of her these days. In my opinion she shouldn't turn face again because she is such a brilliant heel. I like that she took a break from the spotlight to allow Layla to shine but now we need her as the champion if we want a strong division.

Alicia Fox:
Last year her wrestling was so-so and she was also very bland. But she was given some mic time and the chance to work more matches, and now she is one of the best heels in the division. Her match with Eve at Money in the Bank was outstanding work from her and she could have been so brilliant if a certain spotlight stealer hadn't killed her momentum.

Natalya:
Sure she could wrestle last year but what else did she have? I never thought a face turn would be good for her but she has gone from dead crowds to standing ovations. I think when Beth is done they should give her a feud for the title because her and Michelle work brilliantly together and the fans would be really into it.

Gail Kim:
Considering the trouble WWE went to in order to get her back and how they proceeded to do nothing with her, it's a surprise she did anything this year at all. But that little push she got at the beginning of the year was quite refreshing and she got some actual mic time. True she deserved to be booked a lot better but at least she hasn't become a jobber. And we finally got to see her and Evan Bourne standing side by side.

Maryse:
Yep, she's on the highs list. She's been removed from the title picture so now she's being utilised for what she's good at. She is a great character and has been good with Ted DiBiase. That moment she had at Money in the Bank was priceless and I think she could even become a General Manager type character. Plus she's hot

Beth Phoenix:
Now that Mickie is gone and Melina's a mess we need a strong face in the division and Beth's face run was quite good for what we got of it. Her stuff with Vickie really helped get her over and how could I forget her brilliant performance in the Royal Rumble. I would love to see her work with Alicia and team with Gail Kim again.

Jillian:
Despite being a jobber, I really enjoyed all her matches with Gail on Superstars. She even got a good match out of Melina over the summer. I hoped she was going to have a face turn but no. Well we have too many at the moment.

Lows:

Melina:
I am so sick of this woman. Her injury was one of the best things that could have happened to the Raw divas since we got space to breathe. She just doesn't work as the top face, more of a supporting role. And she killed all of Alicia's momentum by a) getting awarded a title match for nothing, b) defeating her in an awful match and c) defeating her in an equally awful rematch where she barely let her get in any offence. Three words Melina: God Mode Sue

Kelly Kelly:
Last year I honestly thought this girl was going places. She had improved her wrestling and was having some good matches but then she got moved to Smackdown and her wrestling skills somehow vanished. Maybe it was the less experienced workers on Smackdown but she was not ready for that title push. It wasn't awful but she wasn't ready.

Tiffany:
What an idiot. You were almost on your way to becoming a top contender in the women's division then you go and mess up by getting suspended. If you get released, you brought it on yourself.

Bella Twins:
Can you say non-entity?

Rosa Mendes:
I'm kinda in between on her since she can be funny at times but her wrestling sucks.

Tamina:
She has yet to impress me.

PostSubject: Re: my highs and lows of the divas   my highs and lows of the divas EmptySat 25 Sep 2010, 6:42 pm

Eve has been one of the worst things about this year. It was sad seeing her attempt to wrestle in the ring by doing her stupid moonsaults. The ONLY time I was a bit impressed with her was her ppv match with Maryse, other than that she's been a trainwreck with no personality. She really didn't deserve the push she got, it should've been Gail.

And Michelle didn't take a break from the spotlight when Layla won the title, she got herself in the spotlight WITH Layla when she should've let Layla shine on her own. Layla has taken most of the pins in matches and Michelle has been the one getting most of the wins, even when Layla won it would be because of Michelle. Michelle took Layla's spotlight away by getting herself in the NOC match when she wasn't the current women's champion.

The only time I think Layla looked good was this past week on Raw because she FINALLY got a win by herself without Michelle's help and she did it with a great finisher.

I agree with Alicia, Natalya, Gail, Beth, and Jillian. Melina is also on my highs list as I still think she's one of the best wrestlers and has had decent/good matches since coming back from injury. Her best ones so far have been one of her matches with Alicia(Can't remember which one, lol)and her NOC match with Michelle.

Agree with most of your lows though I think Tamina is decent.

Maany good points.

I agree with Mintz about Eve, she's pretty brutal.

I like what you stated about both Michelle and Layla, particularly Michelle. I had a dislike for her because she didn't have a gimmick with enough personality. Plus, she kept winning.

The winning has continued, but there's a different dimension to her which makes her much more tolerable for me.

Michelles winning has gone down somee!!! tbh the first half of the year it was about McCool and Layla as her lacky

but i am lovin the second half, cos Layla is more of an equal...and is winning and having more matches then McCoool

i agree with almost everything

Melina is by far a low for me and the devision
