Ghostbusters 3 starts filming May, 2011!?

Is Bill Murray tied to a chair somewhere, benzodiazepines spilling through his veins, gagged like ‘the gimp’ in “Pulp Fiction”!?

Only likely explanation for this next bit of news.

Production Weekly tell us that “Ghostbusters 3″ has been scheduled for a May 2011 start.

Yep, you’re not mistaken, I actually wrote the words “Ghostbusters 3″ and “Start” in the same sentence.

Is the film not a ‘myth’? (as Bill Murray, who has reluctantly agreed to come back and reprise ‘Venkman’, likes to call it) Has Aykroyd found a big enough vault to store Murray’s pay? Has Sony finally come to their senses and realized it might be more viable pouring money into a new “Ghostbusters” film than another of those bloated bitches, “Resident Evil”!? Is Aykroyd’s rewrite that good that the studio wanted to greenlight the film immediately!?

It would seem so. This is “Ghostbusters 3″ though – a film I’ve been writing about since 1999 (when Aykroyd was trying to flog his ‘Ghosbusters in Hell’ script to the studio) and is renowned for it’s premature bolt before the capgun sounds.

The storyline of the new film has e old gang training up some new recruits (one of whom is rumoured to be Oscar, Dana Barrett and Peter Venkman’s grown-up son). Murray, Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Rick Moranis are said to be returning with Ivan Reitman in the director’s chair.
