Off the heels of the premiere of The Ward, and the announcement he'll direct an adaptation of Darkchylde, horror legend John Carpenter has boarded Brazilian helmer Dennison Ramalho's horror pic The Hell Within as an exec producer. The story, which is penned by Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train, Insanitarium), tells the story of a woman who goes on a quest into the heart of a Brazilian jungle to save a girl, only to discover that the girl was bait. Barry Films will produce the pic, based on Ramalho's original idea, together with Storm King Productions' Sandy King. The project is structured as a Brazilian-German co-production and is set to lense in the Amazon jungle in Brazil.
