Report: Creative Told To Develop New Cage Match Empty
PostSubject: Report: Creative Told To Develop New Cage Match    Report: Creative Told To Develop New Cage Match EmptySat 04 Dec 2010, 1:52 am

Just before WWE's Hell In A Cell pay-per-view event, WWE's creative team were reportedly told to develop a new idea for a 'gimmicked' cage match. Company officials feel the Hell in a Cell match has run its course and a new type of cage match is needed to draw increased revenue for future pay-per-view events. We'll keep you posted.

Didn't they do this before? Wasn't it the Punjabi Prison Match?

And how can they say the Hell In A Cell has run its course? I think making a PPV revolve around it was a mistake because I always looked forward to when WWE would hold a PPV with a HiaC match. Now you know when its coming its not as exciting but still, I wouldn't get rid of it.

Hmm...

Elimination Chamber...Success! Though like HIAC is becoming dull for overuse
Barbed Wire Steel Cage...Fail
Punjabi Prison Match...Fail
Extreme Chamber...Fail

It's their fault that it's 'run it's course.' There's an annual ppv based on the match-type. Nearly every feud for the world titles culminate in a hiac match (steel cage match or last man standing). Over-usage is an overstatement. A new match concept wouldn't be bad, they just need to refrain from making it there go-to match when they can't think of anything else. TBH, I wouldn't mind seeing more no holds barred matches in the future. I think it can be pulled off despite the limited lengths they can can go to with the violence.
