Smackdown Spoilers 12/31/2010

I figured the SD Spoilers and Discussion thread weren't doing much in promoting an active discussion and debate, and feel that merging them together as weekly threads could be of great benefit.

* The show opens with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero talking about last week’s match against John Cena. Kofi Kingston comes out as does Jack Swagger. They both want a rematch from TLC. A fight breaks out and Teddy Long announces a triple threat for the Intercontinental Title later tonight.

* Big Show beat Cody Rhodes by count out when Cody walked out.
* Drew McIntyre beat Trent Baretta after the referee stopped the match when Trent missed a dive. After the match, Drew hit his DDT finisher on Trent on the floor.
* Edge and Rey Mysterio beat Kane and Alberto Del Rio. Mysterio hit Del Rio with a 619 and Edge pinned him after a spear for the win.
* Natalya and Beth Phoenix beat Michelle McCool and Layla when Beth pinned McCool with her finisher.
* Dolph Ziggler beat Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger in a triple threat. Dolph rolled Kofi up after he hit Trouble in Paradise on Swagger.
* It was announced that the first SmackDown of 2011 will be main evented by Edge vs. Kane in a Last Man Standing match.
* They made references to Teddy Long’s New Years Eve party so those may appear as backstage segments.
* Alberto Del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio in a 2 of 3 Falls Match is also announced for the first SmackDown of 2011.

I have to say, I am extremely impressed with Smackdown in the last 6 months, even year. The IC title scene is good involving those three, and a 3 way kind of fued is occuring, which is good. They haven't completely dropped the Edge/Kane fued, which is good and I am still enjoying it. Looks like the first SD wil be good...I mean, a last man standing match?! And a 2/3 falls? I'm honestly tired of Alberto/Rey, but at least a decent fued is developing, and Alberto is recieving attention. Good to see that Nattie/Beth are teaming again and defeated Laycool again lol.

Least they are losing to them lol.

Seriously? Tag match after tag match after tag match? SD is getting repetetive with LayCool.

But hopy to see Dolph and Jack Swagger in action. I seriously love Swagger and really hope he gets back in the main event scene. Dolph, i klnow they won't ever push him like that.

Although hope they find someone to replace Kofi, not into him, maybe Trent Barretta, he's like 23, he's super young and FULL of potential. Right now is the time, to give him a shot, especially after the break up the sexiest team ever called Dudebusters

im looking forward to the drew vs trent match even though the match gets stopped.

It was a good match, like wasn't a complete squash. Trent took an awesome bump there and sold it well.

Laycool and Nattie/Beth had a backstage segment which was rather funny.

i prefer Kane in the ME 10x more than Edge with his 10th pointless reign

It was pretty long I believe. I remember planning I had time before I had to get ready for work, then it finished and I had to leave in like 4 minutes :/
