| -- Former WWE talent Chuck Palumbo took to Twitter to note that the average TNA mid-card wrestler makes less than $500 per match not to mention that they have to cover their own hotel expenses and health insurance.
He wrote: "Two fans asked me how much a wrestler makes over at TNA today, when I told them the "average mid carder" is makin less than 500 a match...no hotels .....they couldn't believe it.. That's before taxes and expenses and paying your own health insurance.... They were like holy****, we better stay in school.. I said "good idea."
"That's not a knock on the boys....I respect their passion....the wrestling companies take advantage of their passion! Any company outside of wrestling would love to have workers with the desire work ethic and passion of a wrestler.. The ones that do ....care about their employees and give them benefits etc..bonuses too."

| You are better off working independent show getting 350/400 a show then working for TNA, I'd purely get hired for the fame and then work independant shows for the rest of my life. | |

| If I wanted to be a wrestler, my career would be most important. If you are doing what you love, the money shouldn't matter not nearly as much. If koney becomes your number one thing, you need to do something else. Getting into the business, you KNOW it doesn't pay but you did it because you love it, not so much for cash. You can make it work if it's what you really want. When the moolah overgulfs you, time to find another career. | |

You say that, but I've just finished reading a book about WWE road trip stories, and quite a few said that if they were paid any less they wouldn't be wrestling, because they couldn't afford the travel which is the main part of the job. It was mainly divas and jobbers and what not but still, thats where everyone starts. It seems a lot of careers end early due to being underpaid when they start.

yeah, they do it because they love it, but deep down inside...they do it because they want to make a living for their families

| Get another job. Should've planned ahead, it's that simple. Wouldn't have those problems if you think ahead, and thinking ahead would be DON'T HAVE A FAMILY IF YOU ARE PURSUING YOUR DREAMS, NOT UNTIL YOU SETTLE DOWN. Then, now money issues at least not nearly as much. | |

| so, by your logic, they should forget about having families since they work for WWE? and in the world of wrestling, NOTHING is guaranteed. its not that simple to just get another job like that | |

| ^ Yes, exactly. And it's not MY logic, it's logic period. And when there's a will, there is always a way. If you're smart, you go to college to get a degree in something that IS guaranteed to fall back on. | |

| ok, so say i have a family, and my only options were to go work with WWE....or go do something else making minimum wage while im paying thousands of dollars to get a degree in something....you actually think id pass up going to WWE? or be a worthless piece of shit making 7.50 an hr flipping burgers
lets take some examples of wrestlers that left to make more money elsewhere..but have flopped in doing so.
Stacy Keibler: wanted to do acting and movies...and shes been extremely irrelevant ever since.
Sean O'Haire: went into MMA...failed
Bobby Lashley: went to do Strikeforce....and is failing at that
Lita: retired to focus on her band, which isnt any good
the only 2 that have been seemingly successful in another venture, is Jericho with Fozzy and Lesnar with UFC

| Then take your candy ass to WWE, your career will likely be nothing but do it. Shouldn't have had others to provide for knowing you were getting involved in an industry that is notorious for low pay rates. | |

| see, thats another ignorant statement. im not gonna decide NOT to have a family because of what i want to do, and most wrestling companies are notorious for low payrates, come on man. TNA, the indies, EVERYONE starts out at the bottom. are you gonna tell me i shouldnt go play in the NFL next because i wanted a family?, because thats a sport where you can be employed one day, and lose it all the next | |

| Then you're selfish, knowing your're putting others in your responsiblity while you pursue your personal dreams. Sacrifice yourself, don't put other lives on the line. That's egotistical to the highest degree. | |

| You're selfish because you pursued a dream with little to no chance of success and wanted a family at the same time, threatening their financial status present and future for your selfish needs. Yes, you are done. | |
