BBC Profiles New WWE RAW Superstar Mason Ryan

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the largest broadcaster in the world, has an article on the Welsh section of their official website featuring the newest addition to the WWE roster in Mason Ryan (real name Barri Griffiths), including comments from the parents of the 28 year-old World Wrestling Entertainment superstar.

His parents noted that they were very proud indeed of his success, with his father Malcolm noting that the WWE Superstar wants to be the best and number one in America.

“He wants now to beat all of them, beat all the best and be number one in America. That’s his aim from the beginning,” said his father Malcolm.

Meanwhile his mother Carys was a bit nervous regarding professional wrestling, noting that when they do high-risk moves, she gets nervous watching.

“I have to be honest when they are there in the ring and throwing all sorts of things about, well – it does make me a little bit nervous,” she said.

Ryan was taken under the wing of the late great Welsh wrestler, Orig Williams (El Bandito) back in 2007, working under the name of Celtic Warrior, a name currently used by another World Wrestling Entertainment superstar in “The Celtic Warrior” King Sheamus.

On Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, Mason Ryan was seen to kneel to the new leader of The Nexus, CM Punk, before being accepted into the group. His mother Cerys noted that Mason Ryan made a statement on Monday’s RAW.

“I think he has made a statement quite recently that he wants to conquer the world. Maybe that’s his vision, that’s his aim – hold your breath and see what happens.” The full article is available at this link.
