Edge To Retire?, + 4 Other WWE Talents Leaving?

We've noted several times in the past year that a WWE main eventer plans on leaving the organization once his current contract expires. The wrestler in question is Edge, who's deal runs out next year.

Word is that Edge isn't enjoying being on the road so much, and that he has told friends that he could use a break after all of the years, injuries and rehabbing those injuries.

With that being said, there is no confirmation that he will retire. Many wrestlers that have made good money discuss retiring at the end of their next contract, and either sign a new deal, or take a retirement that turns out to be a break.

It should also be noted that four other wrestlers are looking to leave WWE when their contracts expire.

I won't hold it against him if he does retire. He's been totally devoted to the business. He's literally had plenty of blood aweat and tears during his career to be be where he is today: a top guy and an all-time great performer.

He's forever embedded in my memory as others before him, because of great matches, the early Rated R era, etc.

Edge's time has come, he's given his all for over 10 years in WWE. If anyone deserves a break, its him.

I think some fans will be sad when edge goes but it will probably help smackdown as new people getting pushed.

He was rendered irrelevant when the G Era came in, and Rated R in G doesn't work...WHATSOEVER. And lord knows that Opportunist gimmick has run its' course. It's about time for him to go, while he's still in one piece and go out on top.

@CP- Yes, new guys - the right guys - need to be pushed. However, WWE needs to realize that not everyone can be be world champion, or even a great singles star. You have some guys to look to in the coming years. Some guys will be better suited in a tag team; or utilized in the sidekick role.

Yes...yes...why? because the youngblood don't have what the vets have...and that was experience, and that took time, a great deal. WWE can't put that into them, especially with little to zero guidance from guys who know the craft. On top of that, most of them are very very generic in moves as well mic skills. They're fucked in the long haul.

– To follow up on the news that RAW superstar Edge is considering retirement in the near future, the Rated R Superstar recently told the Asheville Citizen-Times that his days in the ring are indeed coming to an end soon. Edge recently purchased a new home in North Carolina, where he plans to settle down after he leaves WWE.

“That’s part of the reason I bought up here. We want to retire and listen to the wind in the trees, and we want to do it fairly soon. I may have two more years. With each injury, it’s harder and harder to come back.”



Edge has already basically confirmed this himself. He deserves it and needs to start thinking about having time with his loved ones. I feel for these WWE employees. They are always on the road.

I got it the G Era. Shit is so weak it doesn't even warrant the PG. Nitro at its' peak was PG and it kicked ass. WWE has no excuse, so it's just G haha
