Slaughter had been working as a producer for the company for quite a few years, and made occasional appearances in ring and on camera.

Ron Simmons, who made sporadic TV appearances with his “Damn” gimmick and did some promo work for WWE in the last year."

well i am shocked at slaughter....with him being a huge HOFAMER....but oh well.

and i dont think people are gonna care about the 40 staff members unless we know who they are like a tim white for instance.

I know. BUT for now, we have three sad updates. Talent Relations guy Greg Disco, Referee Mickey Henson, and developmental talent Matt Cappotelli.

Greg Disco, who worked in the Talent Relations department, was released last week. Disco worked directly under Ty Bailey and Mark Carrano. Several within the company believe his release has hurt the department. There are a lot of stories regarding people not getting phone calls returned this week, from that department.

WWE has also dropped referee Mickey Henson (Mickie Jay). Henson had been out of action the past few months with undisclosed health problems and it was unknown if he would return. Henson was brought into the company in the fall of 2005 and asked to change his stage name due to the similarity to the name Mickie James.

Matt Cappotelli has been released as well. Cappotelli won a WWE contract in Tough Enough III and was working in OVW when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He underwent successful surgery in May of 2007 to have a tumor removed and had hoped to return to the ring.

But Victoria was retired not released.

They still have to release her from her contract.

UPDATE: WWE releases developmental talent Hade Vansen!!

WWE has released British developmental wrestler Hade Vansen. WWE ran a bizarre vignette on his planned character on SmackDown a few weeks ago.

WWE had plans for his dark character with cult-esque overtones to engage in a feud with Undertaker, but Vince McMahon halted the direction following the initial vignette. McMahon didn't want new talent from developmental to be put in such a major angle before being tested and then trusted enough to carry the ball.

SmackDown creative team writer Michael Hayes came up with the idea for the storyline. He had plans for Kevin Fertig (a.k.a. Kevin Thorn) and the large masked developmental wrestler Black Pain to be associated with Vansen in some form before the character and direction were dropped. WWE released Fertig last week as well, so only Black Pain remains.

Vansen was signed to a developmental contract in May 2007 following a successful tryout during WWE's European tour. Vansen missed most of 2008 due to injury before returning in December.

Never seen the masked dude, but this sounds like a pretty freaky stable. Oh well.....

And on a horribly sad note, referee Jimmy Corderas was released on the same day that his father died.

seriously...that has to be one of the worst days in history for him
i just hope WWE didnt realease with that in mind. or maybe they thought that he could do with time off i dunno

Update: WWE releases..........Mary Blinstrubas, Executive Assistant to Stephanie McMahon

Mary Blinstrubas, Stephanie McMahon's executive assistant who had been with the company since November of 2006, was let go amidst last week's layoffs.

Blinstrubas was said to be incompetent. For instance, she'd constantly send out creative scripts via e-mail to random departments within the company, putting random people in the loop on creative plans before Vince McMahon himself even had a chance to review the shows. She'd also slip up and call Michael Hayes 'Virgil' and refer to Dusty Rhodes as 'Brian' (after Gewirtz). Blinstrubas would also accidentally patch in important calls with random extensions on the WWE board during conference calls with Vince.

Blinstrubas' other duties included grocery-shopping for Stephanie, buying her clothes, relaying messages to her nanny, etc.

Wow to get released when your dad died? THATS TERRIBLE! But not suprised at all. WWE released Lena Yada with her dad sick and Dawn Marie while she was preggers. Now thats fucked up

WWE is just like the NBA when it comes to Michael Jordan: if he isn't a huge star right away, then our experiment is a big flop.

from what i hear most of the wrestlers and refs got their weed from him so it should be interesting to see who the weed guy in wwe is.

on both sides it was wasted talent imo. wwe didnt push him and he wouldnt quit smoking long enough for them to actually push him.
