2011 Future Endeavors Thread - Melina, Kozlov, Masters, DH Smith Released

-- WWE developmental wrestler Kevin Hackman was removed last week from the Florida Championship Wrestling's website roster page, which would indicate that he has parted ways with World Wrestling Entertainment. Hackman, who's real name is Andrew Leavine, is a former Florida International University offensive lineman WWE signed last summer to a developmental contract.

Add Finlay to the list..

That's too bad. he's a good wrestler and he trained the divas. sucks to see him go.

Apparently, Finlay scripted a segment at a house show where the national anthem was interupted, and that upset members of the National Guard in attendance. He was released for scripting the segment.

World Wrestling Entertainment released Dave
Finlay yesterday. He had been solely working as an agent/producer since
retiring from in-ring competition last year.

PWInsider reports
that WWE Champion The Miz was booked to interrupt the national anthem
during a live event in Champaign, Illinois on Friday. A number of
representatives for the National Guard were in attendance (a huge
partner and sponsor for WWE) and they were not pleased with the anthem
being used to draw heel heat.

According to the report, once key
WWE officials were informed of the ordeal, a decision was made to
terminate his contract immediately, since he was the event's top
producer. Basically, he "had to fall on the sword" and take
responsibility for the incident.

His release from the
organization comes as a shock to numerous employees. Finlay is well
liked and many people are hoping that it is a situation where he could
be brought back in the future once things cool off.

Finlay had
been with the company from 2001 and was considered the top producer in
the organization. Many credit him with orchestrating the women's
division over the past decade.

WWE released Michael Tarver, Jacob Novak, Buck Dixon, Buddy Stetcher and Ethan Levin over the weekend, reports PWInsider.com.

Tarver was on the inaugural season of NXT not to mention an original member of The Nexus. After being dropped from the group in October, he was brought back for several television appearances that saw him standing in the background. He never returned to WWE in-ring action.

Jacob Novak participated in the current season of NXT, but was eliminated first for the second consecutive season.

Dixon, Stetcher and Levin were seldom featured developmental wrestlers.

Didn't care about any of them so not bothered . Wonder how many more releases to go.

I get the feeling he requested release because he felt Vickie had integrated herself into WWE enough that she didn't need him there anymore, not because he wasn't being used right.

ok, so he wasnt being used at ALL. saying he didn't want out because of not being used but of other things is kinda a stretch

Being used and being "used" are two different things though. He was being used by the WWE to get over Sin Cara wrestling wise in their mini-fued. But he wasn't being used as in given a push or anything like that since his stint as ECW champ.

I'd just like to go back to the Finlay thing, because I never saw the reason for that. I know America is very patriotic and stuff, but I still find that a pathetic excuse for him to go. WWE should be taking the fall, as they should be confirming the ideas made and agreeing to them. They can't just say "oh we didn't make that idea..." when they wouldn't at least looked over it.

What these National Guards don'trealize is things like this do draw heat. Should we bitch if Miz comes out and attacks the Easter Bunny giving out eggs? Thats a so called "cheap" way to get heat, but its because its a successful one. We've had people spit and snot on the American flag before, and people like Muhammad Hassan bitching about America, so its really stupid tbh.

also, Muhammad Hassan had to be released because a TELEVISION NETWORK called for it. WWE HAD to release him, or Smackdown woulda lost their network slot

Yeah I know, but that wasn't until later on that things become serious. Look at Nikolai Volkoff, he was so over as a heel because of his anti-usa antics, which created a very over Sgt Slaughter back in the day as a result for standing up. Even Hogan, as over as he might have been despite it, they used the American hero build up to get him over even more, as he was being patriotic.
