Superstars 6/23/11

Can't believe no ones posted about this yet. First of all I thought the SD match was really good. I'm loving the whole face/heel dynamic and there seems to be genuine chemistry between the two. The match got really good time and this time everyone got a good amount of time in the ring. Natalya and Alicia stood out for me the most. It will be nice to see all the divas getting finishers soon apart from Alicia and Nattie.

Gail/Melina was much better than their last couple of Superstars matches. All credit to the announcers as well, they really tried hard to help build up the feud between them. Melina did well with faking the whole injury angle.

I was lazy so I never made it yesterday..

I basically said what I had to say in the 'Ricky's Thoughts' thread so here it is:

Superstars had two pretty good matches.

The tag match was great since it actually got 5 minutes. That doesn't seem like much but when you've seen them wrestler 1-3 minute tag matches it makes all the difference in the world! So I enjoyed that match a lot. Natalya worked well with all the members of the heel team [duh she is awesome], Kaitlyn didn't seem awkward imo and her sidewalk slam was nice, AJ had a very nice counter to Alicia's spinning back breaker, and the finish with Alicia missing the Scissors Kick into an AJ school girl FTW was not bad. I just hope they give her an offensive finisher soon. Have her beat Rosa with it. :P

The Gail/Melina match was good [Gail looked awesome in her new attire] but for me it still could have been better. More time is a must because the match was exactly 4 minutes by my calculations so yeah give them more time they can have a lot better match. Melina's faked injury [which with her history I thought was legit...] into the Snapmare Facebuster was nice. Great move and she should do it more often for a two count. Melina and Gail each got a lot of offense in the short amount of time they had since it was a fast paced match so that was good and sorta made the match feel longer. I liked Melina's facebuster and Gail's rally moves at the end. Her comebacks are usually great. The finish was okay. I guess they didn't want Gail to win so decisively this time. I mean Melina had her split legged big boot countered into a Crucifix ftw. So like I've said more time would be great but this match was not bad.

IMO it was a pretty good week for the divas.

I hope they have some good matches next week on Raw, Superstars, and SD!

That 6 woman tag match was really good. AJ shined tbh, and she didn't look like a rookie in there with her exchanges with Alicia. I don't really like Nattie's watered down moves now.

Also its funny how Gail/Melina can have an awesome 5 minute match which seems so long and hardfelt, yet a Kelly vs Brie 4 minute match achieves so little offence.

That match seemed a lot shorter than 4mins.

It was exactly 4 minutes by my calculations [24:26-28:26] but I kinda thought the fast pace made it okay that it wasn't so long.

And Rated X [I'm sure you know] but Gail/Melina >>> Kelly/Brie so that's why their short matches are so much better than Kelly/Brie's short matches.

That's because Gail and Melina are great wrestlers whereas Kelly and Brie are just eye candy.

Gail/Melina have so much chemistry together, I love that they can put on great matches in 5 minutes or less and tell a great story.

I was digging the tag match as well. Nattie, AJ, Alicia, and Tamina did a great job
