Sony lucked its way into one of the most effective methods of enticing
users back to the PSN after all that unpleasantness. By offering
PlayStation Plus access to all, the once-exclusive Uncharted 3 beta
became open to anyone willing to accept their Welcome Back packages, and
according to Sony, over "1.5 million unique players" have tried the
beta out. The company announced this in its response to tonight's NPD
sales data (which is forthcoming).
It should come as no surprise that unrestricted access to a free, early
chunk of one of the PS3's biggest holiday titles would turn out to be
popular.
