Subject: SD spoilers 7/29 Wed 27 Jul 2011, 1:01 am

Thanks to Reginald for the following WWE SmackDown tapings from tonight’s show in Philadelphia. These will air this Friday, July 29th:

Dark Match:

* Justin Gabriel defeated Hunico.

SmackDown:

* Triple H opens the show and announces he re-signed CM Punk to a WWE contract. Christian comes out and it’s announced he will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred match at SummerSlam. R-Truth comes out and wants to talk conspiracies with Triple H. Triple H makes Truth vs. Orton for tonight and Christian vs. John Morrison up next.

* Christian beat John Morrison.

* Wade Barrett comes out to talk about Daniel Bryan. Bryan comes out and threatens to make Barrett tap. Barrett hits him and taunts him with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Bryan gets the upperhand and makes Barrett tap to the LaBell Lock.

* Backstage segment with Teddy Long and Zack Ryder. Mark Henry comes in and Ryder is going to find an opponent for Henry.

* Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes and Tamina beat Kaitlyn, AJ Lee and Natalya.

* Mark Henry beat Bobby Howard, a local independent wrestler. Howard had Zack Ryder with him. Teddy Long comes out and says nobody wants to face Henry anymore and they don’t need another lawsuit. This brings out Sheamus who says he isn’t afraid of Henry. Sheamus tosses Henry over the ropes, grabs a chair and Henry leaves.

* Triple H appoints Zack Ryder as Teddy Long’s assistant backstage.

* WWE Tag Team Champions Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga beat The Usos.

* Backstage promo with Johnny Curtis. He will be debuting on SmackDown next week.

* Justin Gabriel video package.

* Backstage interview with Matt Striker and R-Truth with Truth talking about his match against Randy Orton.

* Backstage, Zack Ryder puts Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.

* Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase beat WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match.

* The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal appear on the second level of the arena and cut a promo in Punjabi.

R-Truth beat Randy Orton by DQ when Orton used a chair as Christian watched the match from the ramp. After the match, Orton hit the RKO on Truth, putting him through the announcer’s table.

Smackdown SPOILERS for July 29

-- Booker T was announced to a big pop. Michael Cole came out to a lot of heat. Josh Mathews came out to round out the announce team.

-- Normal opening and pyro for the broadcast.

-- Triple H is out to open the show. Big pop and chant for him. He said he has had the job for ten or eleven days and the more you try to fix things, the more screwed up they get. He is starting with the most important things and that is the two championships. The WWE Championship is more complicated since there are two champions and, by Monday, he will get to the bottom of it. He confirmed he signed C.M. Punk late Monday night.

Christian came out to interrupt to a mixed reaction. He congratulated Hunter on his new position. He said he is excited to have him in power because of the trouble he has had with Teddy Long. He said Teddy is sucking up to Randy Orton and the fans, and is running the show into the ground. He told Hunter as champion that he should have a good relationship with him. Hunter says that is not the case and he has less patience than Vince McMahon and interrupting him is like slapping him in the face and he can slap harder than Christian.

Hunter said that at Summerslam, Randy will get a title re-match in a No Holds Barred match. R-Truth was out next to pick up where they left off. He called Hunter Mr. H. Truth and Hunter continued more of the comedy act from Monday. Hunter booked R-Truth vs. Orton for later in the show. He books Christian against John Morrison for later in the show, as well.

Backstage: Teddy Long and Hunter were shown backstage. Zack Ryder came out to talk to Hunter, who made him Teddy's new assistant.

(1) Christian beat John Morrison. Christian won with the Killswitch in 8:00. Very good TV match with both men getting a lot of offense in. Morrison looked very good in his first match back from neck surgery.

-- Wade Barrett was out for a promo. He said he wanted to be a WWE Superstar, not for the fans, but to make money. He was reminded about that by Daniel Bryan walking around with what should have been his Money in the Bank briefcase. Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania paycheck should be his, too. It is a return to basics for Wade Barrett tonight. Daniel Bryan then came out to cut a promo. He said Slater said the same thing last week and he made him tap. Bryan said this year he is going to main-event WrestleMania. Wade hit him and picked up the briefcase. Bryan then put him in the LeBell lock and made Wade tap.

Backstage: Zack and Teddy were talking. Mark Henry came up and Teddy said no one wants to work with him. Zack said he will find him an opponent. Mark told Teddy to thank his assistant.

-- Tag Title match for later in the show: Usos vs. Nexus... (There were C.M. Punk chants during all commercial breaks. His new t-shirt was on sale and very limited sizes were available when I check concessions.)

(2) Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes & Tamina beat Kaitlin & A.J. & Natalya in a six-Divas tag match. Alicia's team won after just two minutes.

-- A video package on Mark Henry aired.

(3) Mark Henry beat Bobby Howard (local wrestler). Squash match with Henry winning after two World's Strongest slams and a backbreaker. Post-match: Henry delivered a banzai drop. Henry got a chair from around the announce table and everyone cleared the area. Teddy Long came out before he could jump on the chair on the ankle and told him he can't compete anymore.

Sheamus then came out to a big pop. Sheamus said he will fight him and he is just as big. He told him the story about a high Irish king and called Mark Henry a big piece of crap. "Piece of crap" chant. Sheamus slapped Henry and then low-bridged him out of the ring. Sheamus grabbed the chair and held the ring while Mark walked away.

(3) New Nexus beat The Usos to retain the Tag Titles. Otunga & McGillicutty won in three minutes when McGillicutty scored with his neckbreaker finisher.

Backstage: Zack was booking matches and Teddy seemed to be getting irritated. Cody and Ted vs. Zeke was booked.

-- Johnny Curtis promo. His debut match is next week.

-- Matt Striker interview with R-Truth. Truth said he feels good and a good Truth is a bad Truth. He said he is going to be like a group of eagles swooping down on a snake. The Viper is going to get got, he said.

(4) Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase beat Intercontinental champion Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match. Rhodes won with Cross Rhodes at just over 3:00.

-- Jinder Mahal promo. I couldn't understand a thing - nothing was in English. "USA" chant from the crowd.

-- Summerslam Recall. Razor vs. Shawn ladder match, reminding everyone of when the IC Title meant something.

(5) R-Truth beat Randy Orton via DQ. Christian came out on the ramp during the match. Orton set up for the RKO and Truth rolled out of the ring. Christian distracted the ref while Truth hit Randy with the water bottle of doom. Randy drank some water and stormed the ring. Randy got a chair and nailed Truth with it and started to beat him down, so Truth won via DQ just after nine minutes.

Post-match, Randy started to take apart the announce table and hit Truth with a monitor. RKO on the table and the table didn't break. Randy started to walk away and stopped at the bottom of the ramp. "One more time" chant. Orton delivered a second RKO on the table and it still didn't break.

End Taping

Post-taping: Zack Ryder came out to set up the dark match of Randy Orton vs. Christian in a Street Fight for the World Heavyweight Championship. Christian cut a promo saying Philly doesn't want to see a Street Fight. The crowd said they do. Christian says Philly doesn't deserve a Street Fight and he has never met a tough person from Philly.

Dark Match: World Hvt. champion Christian beat Randy Orton in a Street Fight to retain the World Title. They started brawling and Christian brought a cane into the ring. They had some really good back and forth sequences. Randy got the cane and nailed Christian to set up for the RKO, but Ted and Cody came down to distract Randy, leading to Christian getting a roll-up victory in six minutes.

After the match, Randy hit RKOs on everyone and posed in the ring, sending the crowd home happy.

Really looking forward to the JoMo/Christian match.

I really wish JoMo was on SD.

I also am looking forward to the Cody match and the divas match although both are way too short.

Bryan's promo and most of SD seem to be good as well so I am so watching this Friday!
