| Subject: Which Superstars will lead the company into a new era? Fri 26 Aug 2011, 3:58 pm | |
| Every five to ten years in WWE there's a new group which becomes the primary focus. This crop is either in title matches, involved in most major story lines, or used to get over people while they're still going to look good and maintain a top spot in the company.
Early 90s had Hogan, U. Warrior and Macho Man
The mid 90s had Bret, HBK and Taker.
The late 90s had Rock, Austin, HHH, Jericho, Angle.
Early to mid part of the last decade, guys like Brock, Angle, HHH, Goldberg, Eddie, Benoit, and the like.
From the middle part of the decade to now, guys like Orton, Cena, Mysterio, Edge, Batista, HBK and Taker were the group always used in big story - lines.
It would appear that CM Punk is going to be one of the new reliable stars that WWE will lean to.
Who do you think will be the next group of guys that will be handed the torch moving forward? _______
Personally, I think Sheamus, Punk and maybe The Miz, are next in line behind Orton Cena and Myserio. I don't see WWE bending over backwards for someone like ADR and Dolph Zigger, though I do believe they will have their succes.

| Punk, definately, and Cena will be around for a while. It makes sense for these to be the go to guys in the current era, with the company trying to clean up it's image and that of wrestling as a whole. Cena's always stayed out of trouble and just been nice and professional. And, who better shows the world that pro wrestlers aren't all like the Hardys than C. M. Punk?
How one conducts oneself offscreen is going to be a major factor in who gets pushed for a while.

| CM Punk definitely. The Miz is up there too.
Sin Cara, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett are all the guys I think may be factors in ushering a new era.
