WWE Smackdown house show report
August 27, 2011
Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Saturday's Smackdown house show was held in a small building that still managed to only be about one-thirds full. There appeared to be about 800 in attendance.
(1) Daniel Bryan beat Wade Barrett via submission with the LeBell Lock at 14:57.
(2) Brodus Clay beat Johnny Curtis with a cross-body at 5:40.
(3) Ezekiel Jackson beat Heath Slater via submission at 4:55. Big Zeke got Slater to tap to the Torture Rack.
Harley Race was introduced. He said he is "happy to be back in the ring" and it's a "great pleasure to see all the fans." He introduced Ted DiBiase, Jr. He said Ted trained at Harley's school and DiBiase is "living the dream thanks to Harley."
(4) Sin Cara beat Ted DiBiase at 9:35. The fans had no idea the "real" Sin Cara had been sent home and were super into the character. His $75 Lucha mask was a hot seller. No trampoline entrance, though. Sin Cara won with a moonsault.
(5) A.J. beat Tamina at 8:50. The match went on forever before A.J. won.
(6) Sheamus beat Mark Henry via DQ at 11:40. Henry was DQ'ed when he hit Henry with a chair on the outside.
Aksana came out to say that Christian isn't going to be here due to travel issues, so filling in for the main event is Cody Rhodes. No offense to Cody, but that was a huge let down. It also meant the Fan's Choice of a Street Fight or No Holds Barred match was out the window.
(7) World Hvt. champion Randy Orton beat Cody Rhodes at 12:58 to retain the World Hvt. Title. Orton won with an RKO. Afterward, Christian ran in and beat on Orton. Ted, Jr. then ran in to make the save. End show.

| Yeah Daniel/Wade, AJ/Tamina, and Cody/Randy all on paper at least seemed very good.
I really want to see Cody/Orton face off for the WHT later this year at a PPV. | |
