The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards took take place on August 28, at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, honoring the best music videos from the previous year. On July 20, the nominees were announced. Katy Perry received the most nominations this year at ten, followed by Adele, and Kanye West, who are both tied at seven.

On August 28, 2011, Adele became the biggest winner on the night, winning four awards out of seven nominations, including Best Direction and Best Editing for "Rolling in the Deep". Katy Perry won three awards, including Video of the Year for "Firework". Lady Gaga won two awards, including Best Female Video.

I was rooting for P!nk to win Best Video with a Message but of course Gaga would win that.

It was sad that Adele only won technical awards but 4 is better than 0 I guess.

I was very sad Foster the People lost both of their awards and same with Eminem.

Fucking Bieber fans are rabid with their voting so no one else had a chance..
Thankfully that lil bitch was only up for one.

I knew Perry would win Video of the Year and I guess I can see why since her video has a lot of shit going on whereas Adele's and Bruno's videos are pretty plain but I like their songs WAY more.

I would expect the Grammys to praise them and in the end that's what I care about most so come Feb I should be happy to see Adele walk away with a shitload of Grammys.

As for performances they all pretty much sucked or didn't interest me besides Adele and Bruno's tribute to Amy.
