A Question About John Cena's Hip Hop Gimmick and Look.

At first I thought he was just doing an Eminem gimmick but when I look back his gimmick looked alot more like Mark Wahlberg or Marky Mark.He even looks like him a little bit was that what wass trying to do?.Make him look and act like Mark Wahlberg?

It was pretty much some early 1990s urban chill white dude who could be a bit of a thug at times. That's how I see it.

The gimmick came about because Steph heard him doing some freestyle rap backstage at a Smackdown taping. It was introduced in some comedic bits in a Halloween episode where everyone was in costumes, and he came as Vanilla Ice.

From there, they started having him do the rap thing as his promos, but shifted it into a heel thug gimmick.

I heard about that.

I love the story behind You Can't See Me & the Five Knuckle Shuffle. He credits his brother and Tazz for the routine.
