WWE announced Monday that first-day ticket sales for WrestleMania 28 in Miami in April 2012 grossed $6.3 million.
Ticket sales topped the previous first-day record of $4.8 million for WrestleMania 25, which was held in Houston in April 2009.
WWE put tickets on-sale this past Saturday and described the main event attraction of The Rock vs. John Cena as the "most highly anticipated main event ever in sports entertainment history."
WWE VP John Saboor said the company believes the event will break all of the company's live event records.
“Coming off the momentum of last year’s record breaking event in Atlanta, we fully anticipate that this year’s WrestleMania in Miami will be our largest and most successful ever," Saboor said. | |
