WWE announced Monday they grossed "more than $10 million" from WrestleMania 29 ticket sales on Saturday. This broke the single-day record of $6.3 million last year when WM28 tickets went on sale.

WWE raised prices on the top-line ticket packages as part of their strategy to generate as much revenue from hardcore fans who will buy tickets independent of the price point. WWE also raised the lowest-level ticket price compared to last year.

WWE issued a press release Monday announcing the following details:

Tickets to WrestleMania 29 at MetLife Stadium went on sale to the public this past Saturday. Demand for tickets was at an all-time high as WWE broke two records:

- Most tickets sold during the first day of on-sale at 52,029 (beating WrestleMania 18 held on March 17, 2002 at Toronto’s SkyDome, which had 51,620 tickets sold in day one)

- Highest gross ticket revenue after day one with more than $10 million (beating WrestleMania 28 held on April 1, 2012 at Miami’s SunLife Stadium, which grossed $6.3 million in revenue in day one)
