Beyonce's previous three albums all received notable Grammy recognition. "I Am … Sasha Fierce" was nominated for Best Album of 2009 (losing to Taylor Swift's "Fearless," but, hey, at least it got nominated). "B'Day" (2006) and "Dangerously in Love" (2003) both won Best Contemporary R&B Album, a category that was recently scrapped. Therefore, Beyonce's most recent disc, "4," wasn't eligible for that prize, but it was in the running for Best R&B Album. It got overlooked. "4" was also slighted in the top contest for Best Album even though its Metacritic score is higher than four other CDs that made the lineup.

Beyonce has to settle for only two lowly bids this year: Best Long Form Video ("I Am… World Tour") and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Party" with Andre 3000).

Beyonce probably doesn't care. She's already got 16 Grammys on her mantle and a lot on her mind with a baby in her belly.

But should we be outraged for her?
