2 Broke Girls, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men who will be Number One?

This year TV has four strong contenders to end TV season as TV’s number one scripted Show. Those shows are 2 Broke Girls, Modern Family, Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory.

2 Broke Girls: The hit new comedy who is amongst TV’s highest rated shows as well as slowly becoming CBS’s number two comedy. A Spot currently held by Two and a Half Men. 2 Broke Girls currently holds an average of 4.6 TV rating, which is currently on fourth place but it’s chances of becoming this Season’s number one scripted show is rather small compared to the other three. It’s 4.6 Rating is partially because of it’s high season premier of 7.1, which is it’s Season High, without it, it’s Season High would drop to a 4.8 and with an average of a 4.4. This year 2 Broke Girls has a LONG shot as becoming number one but after a tie on Monday (February 6th 2012) with Two and a Half Men as number one show on CBS 2 Broke Girls may be a top contender next season.

Modern Family: Modern Family may be the most stable of the four shows and currently holds the number two spot. It’s Season Average of 5.5 and has been getting an average of a 5.4 and 5.5 in recent weeks. Though it’s Season Average may not drop, it certainly won’t see new heights. It premiered to a 6.1 Rating and hasn’t gone lower than a 4.6 all Season long. Modern Family may be the number one contender for Number one comedy for next season, as for now it will have to settle for second spot. But with the recent decline in Two and a Half Men’s ratings, that might soon change.

Two and a Half Men: Two and a half men currently holds the top spot as number one scripted show on television. But this has a huge deal to do with it’s strong 10.7 Season premier episode and the following week it got a 7.4 the week after. But since then it’s ratings have declined and has slowly become CBS’s number two comedy. But due to it’s high season premier still holds the highest Season Average. Without it, it would drop some notches to the third spot. Next Season may be a struggling Season for Two and a Half men, with it’s declining Ratings and the possibility to playing second fiddle to 2 Broke Girls on Monday nights, will it’s high price be worth another season? I’d say for now, Yes.

The Big Bang Theory: The power house comedy who has seen growth with every week. Starting out with a Season Premier of a 5.4 but currently only holds a season average of 5.1. But that might soon change. Recently The Big Bang Theory hit a Season high of a 5.6 (February 9th 2012), midway through it’s Season. Not only that, The Big Bang Theory became the first program in television history to beat Ratings Powerhouse American Idol in it’s time slot of Thursday nights at 8:00 PM. No show in history has ever done that before. I think the 5.6 won’t be the last Season high The Big Bang Theory will see this Season, it will continue to rise and possibly eventually become TV’s number one Scripted Show. Late November it was a battle between Modern Family and Two and a Half Men as top scripted shows of the week, since January the tables have turned and The Big Bang Theory has been getting the best of Modern Family since, with 2 Broke Girls slowly becoming the third scripted show of the week. While Two and a Half Men drops a spot every week.
