'Harry Potter' and 'Hugo' Lead With 10 Saturn Awards Nominations Each! Saturn%20Award%20Trophy

http://www.goldderby.com/films/news/2649/saturn-awards-nominations-news-harry-potter-hugo-film-24680975.html

"Hugo" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" reaped a leading 10 bids each for the 38th annual Saturn Awards. (See TV report here.)

They contend for Best Fantasy Film against "Immortals," "Midnight in Paris," "The Muppets" and "Thor." (See full list of nominations here)

"Super 8" (8 noms) and "Captain America" (7) are both in the Best Sci-Fi Film race as are "The Adjustment Bureau," "Limitless," and "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

The Best Horror/Thriller Film contenders are: "Contagion," "The Devil’s Double," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "The Grey," "Take Shelter" and "The Thing."

Best Action/Adventure Film nominees are: "Fast Five," "The Lincoln Lawyer," "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," "Red Tails," "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," and "War Horse."

Martin Scorsese, who is a Best Director nominee for "Hugo," is being feted with the George Pal Memorial Award "for his brilliant ode to the triumphant spirit of early cinema in 'Hugo'."

The other helmers in the race are J.J. Abrams ("Super 8"), Brad Bird ("Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol"), Steven Spielberg ("Tintin"), Rupert Wyatt ("The Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), and David Yates ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2").

Members of the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror decided both nominees and the winners who will be revealed on June 20.

Begun in 1972 to honor often overlooked films, the organization has extended its reach in recent years, adding TV awards in 1989 as well as that expanded category of action/adventure/thriller films in 1994 and DVD releases in 2003.

Yeah I expect Hugo to win a lot considering it won a lot of Oscars last weekend.

I would not mind Harry Potter and X-Men winning some.
