Michael Bay Says Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reboot Will Have a Different Origin.

Michael Bay says that the planned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot will have a different origin than is traditional for them. Bay recently spoke about the film and suggested that they'll be aliens in the new film.

"When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie," he said. "These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable."

The film is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman from a script by Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco. It is set for a December 25th, 2013 release date.

There's definitely something wrong with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not being mutants. I for one, do not want my childhood memories destroyed.

nah, its from one of the last few things....i actually enjoyed from her.

Her last album was one of the worst albums i've heard in a long time......none of the songs were listenable....they were all just........bad.

Let me guess...knowing Michael Bay and the agenda, Raphael will probably be talkin' jive and saying "Fo Shizzle my nizzles" and "Where my ninjas at?". That will probably be the tag line. "We some real ninjas." "Ninja please." Casey Jones will probably be cast as a black guy and he'll end up in a dress for some reason. April will work for Fox News. The acting will be like Big Time Rush. They'll probably form a boy band and be on stage with Lady Gaga. She'll cover one eye somehow and the turtles will throw up the devil horns. The Bow staff will probably be used in a suggestive way. They'll probably end up in Egypt with the pyramids. And I bet they go back up for the whole rising subliminal. Oh and they have to include the twin towers for the 911 subliminal. I got ya Micheal Bay! #MrJFK

Bleeding Cool reports that Michael Bay's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie may be titled Ninja Turtles, dropping the "Teenage Mutant" part of the name. The name change is apparently due to marketing reasons so the title stays short, like how Disney refused to have the John Carter title feature "Princess" or "Mars" in it.

Even Michael Bay's official site forums list the movie as just Ninja Turtles.

The movie is set to open December 25th, 2013.
