Divas Title Rematch Announced for Extreme Rules

WWE has announced a Divas Title rematch between new champion Nikki Bella and Beth Phoenix at the Extreme Rules pay per view.

The rematch announcement should answer the question of whether Beth’s injury on Raw this past Monday was a work.

As yet, no stipulation has been announced for the match; it looks as though this will be the first Divas match at that pay per view in the past few years without one.

Extreme Rules takes place this Sunday at 8pm ET on pay per view.

what's the betting they announce Beth is unable to compete and then Kharma redebuts as her replacement? that or Eve puts herself in the match instead

I am glad their is a title match I just wish it was an open challenge that saw Kharma take the belt and destroy the Bellas in the process.

Unless Beth is taken out of the match [or others are added] it seems that putting the belt on Nikki was pointless considering Beth would likely regain it and the Bellas would be out the door..

I could see Eve using her powers to get into the match but still I don't really want her to become champ again.. :-/

Kharma will be the divas champion Sunday

Does anyone else think WWE will swerve us and have Layla come back?

I predict that one of these scenarios will happen at Extreme Rules

Beth will regain the Divas title
Layla will return and win the Divas title
Kharma will return

I predict Nikki wins..

Having Beth win the title makes absolutely no sense, as she could've held it a week longer and beat Maryse's record.

Eve won't be involved with the match- she will likely just be this administrator for a while and not have any matches.

I'd rather have Layla return and win the title then have her fued with a returning heel Kharma and build Layla up as an underdog champion against Kharma, possibly having a few title defence upsets against her before she drops the title to her. Then have Beth return from "injury" and face Kharma.

I can easily see though Eve coming out and announcing Beth is unable to compete for some reason and that she announces a new participate- Layla or Kharma. Eve hates the Bellas, it was made obvious this week on Raw.

i wouldnt say it was obvious since she made a divas title lumberjill match, which essnetially won nikki the title.

but i would certainly not want to see beth win,,,,,wwe arent tna where the kos (referring to the angelina, tara, odb saga) have 10 day long reigns....so either nikki retains or Layla comes in and wins/or feuds with them....as kharma or beth winning would be shocking

The reason Eve did the lumberjill match was to keep the Bellas from cheating.

I think Nikki is going to beat Beth again if the match stays between them two alone. Mainly because why have Beth lose it to just regain it a week later? The whole point of the title switch was to get the belt on someone else without that person beating Beth. I still think it was pretty stupid to have Beth lose but what can you do..? I just want it to end up as best as it possibly can.

If Kharma/Layla is substituted instead of Beth or even if they are added then I see one of them winning.

If Nikki defends against her sister Brie I see her successfully defending but then Kharma would come back and destroy them both.

That could then set up a one on one match between her and Nikki for the belt and Kharma would win leading to the Bellas 'retiring.'

Who really knows I wish I could watch it live but I'll just have to make due with results and the video that night or Monday like usual..

(Side Note: WWE just texted a mobile alert that Beth Phoenix is off the PPV. Nikki Bella will now face a mystery opponent for the Divas Title.) -pwtorch

I was expecting Kharma but was so happy to see Layla back and so happy she won!!! I actually thought it was Michelle at first until I saw the titantron and Layla come out. I think she needs to go back to her old music or just get new music.

I am obviously very very happy for Layla....it was reported ages ago she was due a title push upon her return...I really didn't see it happening on her first night back, I really thought Nikki would have defeated Beth and then Layla would save her from a beat down....but either way.

I really do find it funny people that are upset that it was Layla and not Kharma....why are people trying to force Kharma to be champion so early? Yes she is the best wrestler in WWE, but making her champion in her first official match is just ludicrous, where can she possibly go from there....Layla has somewhere to go. Kharma needs to build up some momentum

Watched Layla's interview on wwe.com, bless her for getting emotional

I am a big fan of Layla, but I don't think she should have been given the belt on her first match back.

Like Kharma, I would have much preferred her to get a push toward the belt upon her return, but not a title match from the beginning.

I do hope this leads to The Bella Twins feuding instead of departing.

i'm happy that it was Layla instead of Kharma. Layla has already been champion before so it's not like this win has hurt her. Kharma deserves to get the proper storyline to build her as the champion like she got in TNA. besides she can return any time she wants and the fans will flock to her. Layla's return was something that had to be handled properly. i think they handled it well enough. Kharma returning would have taken away from her return and vice versa. personally i would rather have Kharma return around SummerSlam and build a storyline to that

and did you hear the fans? true there was a quick "we want Kharma" chant but they were hot for Layla. i heard a few "let's go Layla" chants and they were into the match. Layla certainly looked hot in the ring and i can't wait to see her wrestling more

I heard "welcome back" chants. i haent heard that for a diva in a long time.
She learned lucha moves and trained. She worked her ass off, the push was supposed to come beofre but then she had gotten injured. She's trianed and bettered herself. Kudos to her, she is def gonna be a top diva now. Look at candice and ashley, their retuend sucked they didnt improved if anything they went down, at least people can respect the fact layla made sure to brush up on her skills.

i might be reaching here but they've seemingly kept Natalya as a heel now so maybe she'll feud with Layla? that's a promising feud since the two of them have insane chemistry

This would be good to see. It would be nice to see Natalya in a valid position in the division.

Has it been confirmed that The Bella Twins are leaving or is it still just speculation?

There contracts expire tomorrow and with the way things are going it looks like there leaving.

it also states on wwe.com well the article says that wwe have fired them.....but i am still slightly skeptical since they dont normally put legit firings as main page articles.

Saw the match today and it was nothing special.

Way too short. Layla did a couple good moves otherwise it was easily forgettable besides her winning the belt. She did look amazing though.

As for who she should feud with I would love either Maxine/Natalya or even Eve.

Hopefully they set up a title match for OTL or at least a title match on RAW/SD between now and the PPV after OTL.

I reckon it's gonna be AJ, she seems to be having a heel turn...and was also reported along with Layla as being planned for a diva's title push.

Kinda would be excited with the prospect of an AJ v Layla fued....two miniature divas

after leaving Teddy for the young foreign guy..I'd say Aksana is now heel material as well...

and AJ is losing her mind without Daniel...so she's probably gonna go heel next.

and since just about all of you love her, how'd you forget Vickie? WWe could always put her in the ring and let her win the belt.
