| Subject: Estimated July 12th Impact Ratings: Ratings Take Hit With Loss of DirecTV Viewers! Fri 13 Jul 2012, 8:17 pm | |
| http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/TNA_News_1/article_63293.shtml
We do not have an official TNA Impact TV rating for Thursday night's show due to Impact falling out of the Top 50 on cable TV Thursday night. An estimate is between a 0.7 and 0.8 rating, and we'll have an official number next week.
Impact appears to have been hurt by losing their DirecTV audience, as Impact dropped to an average of 1.11 million viewers. It's the fewest viewers since June 3, 2010, which averaged 1.05 million viewers against the NBA Finals.
By comparison during the first six weeks of the live summer series prior to Thursday, Impact averaged 1.31 million viewers, which includes a season-high 1.49 million viewers last week.
In the demographic ratings, though, Impact held steady among males 18-49, scoring the same rating as last week. Impact was down slightly in males 18-34 and males 12-34, but above the June 28 live summer episode.
Caldwell's Analysis: Rough night for TNA following the Destination X PPV, and it remains to be seen if the DirecTV issue is resolved in-time for next week's episode.

NA Impact last Thursday, July 12 officially scored a 0.85 rating, which was down 15.5 percent compared to the July 5 episode leading into Destination X. Most of that drop-off accounts for TNA losing DirecTV viewers during the ongoing fee squabble between DirecTV and Viacom.
Impact scored a 0.85 first hour rating and stayed virtually the same in the second hour with a 0.86 rating.
The quarter-hours barely moved throughout the show, with the low being a 0.80 in Q4 and the high being a 0.89 at the top of the second hour in Q5. Impact finished with a 0.84 in Q8.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 0.85 rating - right at the show average - for the Bully Ray vs. Joseph Park grudge match, plus half of a commercial.
Q2: Impact increased slightly to a 0.87 rating for RVD vs. Samoa Joe, various backstage segments, and one-and-a-half commercials.
Q3: Impact was essentially even with a 0.88 rating for A.J. Styles's latest Claire storyline development with Daniels & Kaz in the ring, one commercial, and more of the storyline backstage.
Q4: Impact dipped to a 0.80 rating for Zema Ion vs. Dakota Darsow match, two commercial breaks, and Austin Aries's ring intro for his victory speech.
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact increased to a show-high 0.89 rating for Aries's speech interrupted by Bobby Roode, Hulk Hogan backstage, and one commercial.
Q6: Impact was essentially even with a 0.88 rating for Miss Tessmacher vs. Gail Kim with Brooke Hogan on commentary, one commercial, and hype for Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson in the main event.
Q7: Impact dipped to a second-hour-low 0.81 rating for more of Claire Lynch, a Magnus promo, ring intros for the main event, one commercial, and the first-half of Angle vs. Anderson.
Q8: Impact increased to a 0.84 rating, which was still below the first-half of the second hour, for the finish of Angle-Anderson, one commercial, and Sting's speech before he was interrupted by the Aces & Eights attacking Hogan backstage, then attacking Sting to close the show.
Caldwell's Analysis: It's tough to read into anything on a week when the entire show was down mainly due to the DirecTV issue. But, the sluggish ratings for the main event segments aren't very encouraging.

| I don't know it was not that big of a drop [about 16%] however it would be really good to get those viewers back of course!
I hope their issues with Viacom get situated SOON!
