July 4th Impact Ratings Report [1/4 Hour Ratings Added 7/16/13]

The holiday edition of TNA Impact on July 4 scored a 0.78 rating, dropping off 15 percent from a 0.92 rating the week before.

Impact averaged 1.053 million viewers, which was off five percent from the week before. Impact avoided being the least-watched show of the year, topping the May 30 episode when TNA changed timeslots.

Despite Impact drawing the lowest overall rating since Thanksgiving 2012, the key demographics produced mixed results. Notably, males 18-34 and males 12-34 hit a six-week high.

However, males & adults 18-49 declined from last week. Also, teen males 12-17 hit a seven-week low. The overall picture points to the extremes of TNA's demographics tuning out, while the middle audience found Impact appealing on a holiday Thursday.

TNA Impact last Thursday, July 4 officially scored a 0.77 rating off a first hour 0.77 rating and second hour 0.78 rating.

The Fourth of July holiday episode peaked in Q1 with a 0.88 rating. The show then reached a 0.79 rating in Q8 for the conclusion of the X Division Title match featuring Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries.

The overall quarter-hour TV ratings pattern followed the same pattern of the males 18-49 demographic, which we covered HERE. Impact peaked in Q1, declined throughout the first hour, rebounded to the show-average at the top of the second hour, and stayed at about the same level for the entire second hour.

First Hour Break Down

Q1: Impact opened with a 0.88 rating for the X Division Title match set-up and one commercial. (0.56 rating in m18-49)

Q2: Impact dipped to a 0.75 rating for A.J. Styles vs. Kazarian in a BFG Series match and Mickie James's speech, which drew a lower rating than Styles-Kaz within the quarter-hour. (0.43 rating in m18-49)

Q3: Impact dipped to a 0.73 rating for Gut Check deliberations, Jay Bradley vs. Hernandez, and one commercial. (0.40 rating in m18-49)

Q4: Impact dipped to a show-low 0.70 rating for GunStorm vs. Bro Man's and two full commercial breaks. (show-low 0.38 rating in m18-49)

Second Hour Break Down:

Q5: Impact increased to a 0.78 rating for Aces & Eights introducing Magnus as their newest member, plus one commercial. (0.52 rating in m18-49)

Q6: Impact stayed at a 0.78 rating for Jeff Hardy vs. Joseph Park and one commercial. (0.52 rating in m18-49)

Q7: Impact was about the same at a 0.76 rating for Gut Check, main event introductions, and one commercial. (0.52 rating in m18-49)

Q8: Impact inched up to a 0.79 rating for the conclusion of the X Title match and one commercial. (0.53 rating in m18-49)
