| Meanwhile, WWE's request to trademark "Ryback" has been denied. The United States Patent and Trademark Office denied WWE's initial request in January to trademark the name since it was deemed a surname, which is prohibited. WWE then offered various reasons as to why Ryback is more than a surname, but were denied again this week. The matter is now considered closed.
