August 20th Raw Diva Discussion Thread

They really need to sort out some form of number one contender match, considering NOC is coming up in a month. Maybe a battle royal? With someone a little fresh winning have Tamina or Kaitlyn win, have a similar thing to Beth/Kelly...where Layla is on commentary and comes in to congrat them only for them to turn on Layla....I see that being Kaitlyn since she has been doing the heel role in NXT/FCW as of late

I really don't know who Layla should face off for the divas title there just ain't that many options since she beat them all except for eve.

Natalya just tweeted to khole to get ready for some Divas tonight so I think we're getting a match.

So it's Layla vs Kaitlyn at NoC.

Kaitlyn is a good choice. i'm thinking this might be just an interim feud until Sara Del Rey shows up so i can see them just keeping it as a friendly face vs face feud. either that or Kaitlyn turns heel since she's been working heel on NXT (them testing her out as one?). either way this could be a really good match and one we haven't seen before

I would love to see this match not only because it would be interesting but also this is a chance to see how far kaitlyn has come since NXT

i'm really looking forward to this match. i hope they give it some good build up if it's going to be at Night of Champions. since the Divas have gotten good amount of time on Raw two weeks in a row that might actually be a possibility. i don't know why but i get the feeling Eve will be thrown in somehow making it a triple threat which i wouldn't be annoyed about either

I am Not happy at all that kaitlyn won.I thought Alicia Fox or Eve should of won that match.The Divas finally get actual time and the Battle Royal still sucked.LMFAO when Tamina was head butting Alicia Fox I seriously hope kaitlyn doesn't win and we might not even get a Kaitlyn vs Layla match at NOC.And also were was kelly kelly??

The best part about that battle royal was the look laylas face when kaitlyn won LMFAO.

the amount of time really worked against it since there was only seven girls in there. if Kelly and Beth had been in then maybe it wouldn't have been so slow. just shows how shallow the roster is right now

I want Layla to retain once but she does need to lose it in the October PPV...she has had it too long and its too shit a reign....I always wanted a face Layla, but she needs to be a heel, cos once again WWE proves that faces have no charcater

By "pointless," you mean one of the best women wrestlers they have, preventing too many matches on the level of Kelly vs Brie?

Nattie ain't going anywhere. She loves what she is doing and seems to have no problem in not wrestling as much, as she still remains busy.

I am sure by the end of the year or beginning of next she will become prominent again.

Natalya is a Hart and a good worker so likely she won't be released unless she wants to. the girls that are good workers rarely get let go unless they ask for it. Victoria, Molly, Gail, Jillian etc. and if you want to know why Natalya's still in WWE, watch her Superstar Toyz video and there's your answer. no other job is going to pay for that amount of shoes

i think Natalya's in a bit of a better position now than she was at the start of the year. she's not farting anymore and she wins occasionally. she's not really used as the heel jobber anymore

There is something about Natayla, which I dont like, I think shes overated and she hasnt done anything worthwhile whilst being in WWE, I did like her when she was managing but apart from that I dont find her exicting or entertaining, maybe thats WWE's fault but right now shes useless, even Alicia is being used more than Nattie.

Ivory stated in a long ringbelles interview that she got really tired of that since she was basically their promotional diva in 2004/2005 and while she was okay with it for a while it just got redundant and she was over it. She just wanted to wrestle which I can't blame her.

It is odd to me that despite the women's division being in a HORRIBLE position in early/mid 2005 they didn't let her wrestle on Raw. I mean the previous fall they lost Jazz, Gail, Nidia etc and then the early part of 2005 saw Lita get injured and Molly retire. Trish had to face Christy fucking Hemme at WM! That alone should tell you the shape it was in.. Trish even got injured in April 2005 and was away til September leaving basically just Victoria, Christy, and Stacy.. Yeah that was probably one of the worst diva periods EVER and I think Ivory could have helped [and I think if she had been used more Molly might have stuck around longer as well since they are BFFs]..

With Molly, it was a health scare, but the Division shouldn't have been made that thin in the first place. This was the worst immediate consequence of Diva Search. Johnny Ace got rid of Jacqueline, Gail, & Nidia to make room for all these models. Then, Lita tore her knee up, Molly had her health scare, & Trish's back injury reached the point to where she was almost unable to move, at all. She'd been working with it since Summer of the previous year. So, they were left with a Division consisting of Victoria and... pretty much just Victoria. Given the circumstances, I don't understand why they didn't keep Velvet on the roster past that one Heat match during the Summer of 2005.

The Division was pretty much put on hold until it was time to bring Mickie up to the main roster, along with Melina, Jillian, & Beth. That seems to be the state of the Division, right now. It's on hold until it's time to call Paige, Skyler, Emma, and, of course, Sara to the main roster. But, again, it shouldn't have gotten to that point in the first place. I find it amazing that Johnny Ace was able to keep that position for so long.

But, I suspect those women are the reason Nattie & Beth don't seem to mind being on the sidelines, currently. Their talents are wasted with Kelly Kelly and the like. But, they'll soon have some women they don't have to hold back with. Similarly, Naomi probably isn't bugged by her current dancer job, because she knows some opportunities will be there if she waits.

I know many ask, "Why don't Beth & Nattie ask for their release and go to TNA? After all, the Knockouts Division is better than the Divas Division." Yes, it is... right at the moment, still carrying some momentum from it's past. But, well... I, for one, am not looking forward to the wrestling debut of Brooke Hogan. And, if you're Nattie & Beth and you're looking ahead, who would you rather work with in a match: Sara Del Rey or the Hulkster's little girl?
