A new poll released by Quinnipiac University on Wednesday shows former WWE CEO Linda McMahon trailing Christopher Murphy by six points - 49 to 43 percent - in the Connecticut Senate race.

In the latest Quinnipiac poll released on October 4, McMahon and Murphy were deemed dead-even with Murphy slightly leading 48 to 47 percent.

Since Oct. 4, McMahon and Murphy have engaged in contentious televised debates that have given Connecticut voters more information to evaluate the two candidates. The new Quinnipiac poll shows McMahon has slipped among women (6 percent) and slightly among men (1 percent). Another 6 percent drop-off is among voters over 55-years-old.

McMahon's campaign is banking on voters changing their minds before Election Day on November 6. Quinnipiac labeled the race "fluid," noting that 11 percent of Murphy-backers and 14 percent of McMahon-backers say they might change their mind over the next two weeks.

In the favorability department, Murphy is split at 39 percent favorable vs. unfavorable, which compares to a negative ranking on Oct. 4. Meanwhile, McMahon is 41 percent favorable vs. 47 percent negative, which is significant shift from a positive ranking of 45 to 41 percent on Oct. 4.
