What is your opinion on John Cena?
Do you feel like If he wasn't pushed so hard and maybe you would like him? Or do you just not like him at all?

He's too PG. Being PG is fine, being too PG is not.
I can appreciate his work ethic, like with Make A Wish and the like, but I don't like his character. If he were at this point in his career back in the Attitude Era, he'd be torn apart. If he were in ECW, he'd be torn apart. He fits in the modern product, which is simply good timing. He did earn his spot though.
On the whole I'm split, I like him as a person, not as a character.

I'm kinda with you VLG I didn't mind him back in 04 when he was first starting to be WWE Champ.I didn't mind him getting pushes every once awhile,His Make a Wish Stuff. My problem with him is he's a career ender for a lot of upcoming talent NO ONE can go over this guy when he loses to someone he eventually gets back at them and beats them like it was nothing(Dolph Ziggler) everytime a new upcomer comes up once they face him its over for them. Also his character needs some work a heel John Cena needs to happen if hulk hogan can turn heel then he can too.If John Cena suddenly got injured and couldn't wrestle anymore WWE would be lost without a top superstar because they won't give anyone a big push to become another John Cena.

Also I don't like the way he talks he really does talk like a superman and he always try's to speak for the people too.First off your not speaking for me because if you were speaking for me your ass would of been on superstars while Dolph Ziggler,Damien Sandow,Cody Rhodes became the next big thing main event PPVs.

His the biggest hippocrite.
-Constantly bitched about how Punk had to beat him to earn the right to be called WWE champion, then just this week on Raw said how Punk had beat him so many times and he was a good champ because he kept the title no matter what.
-Bitches at superstars when they pick on others or use third grade jokes, when he had that whole "your mumma" joke series with Jerry insulting Vickie.

Yeah, I can't blame him for the current kid oriented product. Folks in the IWC act as though everything was going fine, then Cena walked into Vince's office and demanded the show become kiddie friendly. If there's one person to blame for it, it's Chris Benoit. Of course, the ratings were declining in 2007, already, before Benoit did what he did, but his actions damn near killed pro wrestling in the US. They had to build a new audience, and the kids provided that. Cena and those kids were what got the industry through it's darkest time, so I'll give him credit where it's due. He didn't create the current market, just adapted to it.
That said, I don't find him entertaining.
But then, I'd gotten bored with IWC God CM Punk, too, until he got the Shield to freshen him up. I guess it's easier to freshen up a heel than it is a babyface.
As far as whether or not Cena would have worked in the Attitude Era, keep in mind that his rise was during the Ruthless Aggression Era, which wasn't any more kid friendly than the Attitude Era.
But, you just can't do that stuff on the current show. But, again, that's not Cena's fault, but the current market. Even Mr. Attitude Era himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin, says the change in format was the right decision.
And, the kid friendly product was actually cheesier during the Rock'n'Wrestling Era.
See? It could be worse.

i dont care about his PG-atitude. i mostly zone out when he's on the mic anyway...like seriously...i start daydreaming and when i daydream i completely zone out (like in SuckerPunch but without music)
i'm just tired of seeing cena main event and always going for the title and yes i know he has been out of the title scene for months but it didnt take him down a peg like say...Orton?...or sheamus...
it's still the fucking Cena show even when he isnt going for the belt. i'm tired of him..so tired. he needs to go make a movie so we can free of him for a few months.

I've never had a problem with Cena.
While the way he is now is my least favorite, I still have no problem with him.. unless we count the fact that he aims towards the kids too much. Save that shit for Saturday Morning Slam.
The Dr. of Thuganomics needs to come back, and apparently he's been pushing for it for years but Vince doesn't have faith in the other faces.

Are we not referring to the John Cena character and not the real life version? Why would anyone have a problem with the real life version? My hate on Cena is how his character is portrayed by the script, therefore I am inclined not to like him as a character, not as a person. As a character, he is a hippocrite as proven.
Btw, the other thing I hate about the character Cena, is that he has never put anyone over cleanly.
The only people he has lost to cleanly in the last five years is Randy Orton, Triple H, Shawn Michaels & Batista. What do they have in common? They are already established stars.
One could argue he put over Sheamus, which he did, however he didn't do it cleanly. Sheamus had to push Cena through a table to win, and not in a dominating way either. More like a 'oops I fell through the table, Sheamus wins!' type of thing. Same with CM Punk, who was at the level to believably beat Cena cleanly, yet all the times they met that he pinned Cena it was due to some outside interference.
Even Triple H of all people put people other in his PRIME days. He lost three consequetive times to Batista cleanly, he lost to Shelton say two times cleanly, DX lost to Rhodes/Dibiase cleanly which gave them a good rub until it was killed. I believe Maven was able made to look like a legitmate threat to taking Triple H's title at one point. But then look back at Cena. Since he has won the world title for the first time, where is that superstar outside of Triple H/Shawn/Undertaker/Batista/Orton who has defeated Cena cleanly? Even just got the suprise rollup win? They wouldn't even let Edge or Chris Jericho defeat Cena cleanly. I think Big Show got one clean win over Cena, rightfully so, but that was it.
Just this week, Cena buried Cody in about a two minute match, making Cody look stupid once again to make Cena look amazing. Why can't they have Cody pick up the upset win over Cena? Same with Dolph, who needed the rub more than anyone at the moment. Why is it that their top star can't lose any matches cleanly? Is it because they don't have as much faith in him as they are percieved to, or what? As already stated, Triple H was losing to people in his prime days cleanly, and same with the Rock/Shawn/Bret/Austin etc. Yet with Cena, we just never see it and its irritating.

About the top face not putting people over cleanly... The same could be said about Punk when he was the babyface Champion. Undertaker wasn't exactly known for putting people over cleanly. He'd only lose matches via screwjob, outside interference, or in a Triple Threat situation where he wouldn't get pinned. Austin NEVER did as a face, not once, until the final match of his career with the Rock. Bret Hart, when he was the top guy, only put someone over clean once, HBK in the Iron Man match, and he complained about that.
It's a top babyface thing instead of, specifically, a Cena thing. We just notice it more with Cena because he's been the top face for so long. Austin's first babyface run was four years. Cena's been face for over eight years, now.
And that has everything to do with the current market. You could turn a top face heel in the Attitude & Ruthless Aggression Eras because it was an older, more mature, more savvy audience that just wanted to be entertained, and could appreciate a good heel. They'd even start cheering for the heel, to the point they'd have to turn the heel face. That's what happened to Cena. As we saw in the segment above with Eddie, the crowd was loudly finishing his raps for him after a while.
When the primary audience is little kids, though, you can't do that. It took twelve years to turn Hogan heel with the nWo, because the Rock'n'Wrestling Era kids had to grow into what would be the Attitude Era fans. The kids want their superheroes.
And yeah, there's always been a double standard with what's OK for faces to do vs heels. When Lita was heel and interfering to help Edge in his matches, JR would go on about how horrible she was for doing that. But, just a few years before, when she was the babyface interfering to help the Hardyz in their matches, JR called it "good teamwork".

glad you brought Austin up. I get kinda fed up with people praising the guy, when he basically was the Cena of the 90's and I NEVER saw him lose unless it was non clean.
