Bo Dallas Bumped Shelton Benjamin From Royal Rumble?

WWE's decision to place Bo Dallas into the WWE Royal Rumble match led to the company cutting one surprise spot for the match. That spot belonged to Shelton Benjamin, who was already going to be in town working an indy show and had agreed to work the match. WWE changed plans, decided to run the NXT tournament, and Dallas got the spot. Carlito was also flown in and was backstage at the event but ended up being replaced by The Godfather.

The Goldust return had been planned for a week or so prior to the pay-per-view due to the angle with his real-life brother, Cody Rhodes.

While it is true that he is the first wrestler born in the 1990's to compete in a Royal Rumble match, he is not the youngest wrestler in Rumble history. He is actually the 8th youngest entrant. Here are the 8 youngest:

Carlito got shafted for the godfather of all people, who lasted 5 seconds and got a failed reaction?

I don't want to hate on him as I hear he is quite promising but if this is true, fuck you!

Yeah I am upset that WWE were going to use Shelton/Carlito but for whatever reason decided that some others would have bee better.

From what I understand, he's going back to ROH now.

I clearly am one of few that isn't bothered since Shelton never really got my juices flowing.

I am kinda bummed about Carltio tho

Lets be honest what was the chances of those guys winning anyways? BO taking Carlto or sheltons spot Dosent bother me one bit because I rather have brand new people in the royal rumble then see all these past superstars making these 1 time apperences and only seeing them stay in the match for less then 30 minutes its a complete waste of time.

It don't bother me at all really. I mean Bo Dallas is a guy who might be looked at as the future of WWE I mean they are looking for getting new stars as some of there guys are up in age. Sadly the Godfather enterance was not needed It was just a time filler I felt where you could of got a good spot for Carlito or Shelton to put on a good spot. But I agree with Vixen and DL ain't like any of these guys were winning we all knew that Cena was gonna win the the rumble most likly.

i was at the ROH tapings saturday night, after the only WGTT match the crowd gave him a "Thank You Shelton" chant, which usually means he's left the company.

It is a very good point to make. Unless it is an established star returning from injury (for example Cena)...NO surprise entrance will win a Rumble

I guess I was just miffed as I adore the guy and had hoped it'd lead to the long rumoured full time return.

a full time return wouldnt mean anything. Shelton is not WWE material. He sadly has no charisma. He doesn have that it factor...he's just all athletics wih no real substance.
