WrestleMania Returning To Recent Host City For WM 31 Or WM 32?

The city of Orlando, Florida, which hosted WrestleMania 24 in 2008, is a candidate to host WrestleMania 31 or 32, according to the Orlando Business Journal.

"The Sports Commission recently received a request for a proposal from WWE for the opportunity to host WrestleMania. The event would take place in late March or early April in either 2015 or 2016," said the commission in its most recent newsletter.

Earlier this month, WWE announced New Orleans as the host city for WrestleMania 30 in 2014. Cowboys Stadium in the Dallas market is also a candidate for WM31 or WM32 after they complete a two-year run hosting NCAA Tournament games, which takes place around Mania time each year.

As noted earlier this week, The Orlando Business Journal reported that the Central Florida Sports Commission recently received a request for a proposal from WWE for the opportunity to host WrestleMania 31 in 2015 or WrestleMania 32 in 2016. The report stated that the event would likely take place at the Florida Citrus Bowl, which last hosted WrestleMania in 2008.

Detroit, Michigan is another city that received a request for a bid from WWE. The event would take place at Ford Field, which hosted WrestleMania 23 in 2007. The city of Windsor, Canada, which is about 15 minutes from Detroit, is seeking $60,000 - $65,000 for investment if Detroit is able to secure the event. The benefit for Windsor from WrestleMania 23 was $624,000, from an investment of $60,000.
