| Subject: 4-26-13 SD Ratings: Did Taker's Unadvertised Appearance Boost Ratings? Mon 29 Apr 2013, 11:15 pm | |

WWE Smackdown on Friday, April 26 scored a 1.96 rating, up slightly from 1.92 and 1.91 ratings the prior two weeks. It was the first Smackdown to round to a 2.0 rating since March 29.
Smackdown, which featured an unadvertised main event involving The Undertaker, averaged 2.75 million viewers, up six percent from last week's show.
On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #4 in overall viewers, #8 among males 18-34, and #6 among males 18-49. Smackdown went head-to-head with NFL Draft and NBA Playoffs competition, which topped Smackdown in overall viewers.
In the week-to-week demos, Smackdown was up two-tenths of a rating in males 18-34 and one-tenth in males 18-49. However, viewership among younger viewers dropped off.
Caldwell's Analysis:Encouraging, but not a significant increase that WWE should have been able to generate for Taker's first Smackdown match in three years if they properly promoted the main event in-advance. | |
