| Subject: Raw TV Ratings For 3-Hour Show [6/11] - Raw Gets WrestleMania Level Boost! Tue 12 Jun 2012, 11:18 pm | |
| http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/WWE_News_3/article_62373.shtml
WWE Raw on Monday, June 11 scored a 3.24 rating for all three hours and a 3.46 rating for the standard two hours.
The overall rating was highest since April 30 (the night after Extreme Rules when Brock Lesnar last appeared on WWE TV) and the standard two-hour rating was highest since a 3.55 rating the night after the Royal Rumble. (The night-after-WM28 scored a 3.43 rating.)
-- After losing casual viewers two weeks ago on Memorial Day, WWE regained that audience with an average of 4.62 million viewers for all three hours and 4.98 million viewers for the standard two hours. (Raw two weeks ago averaged 3.91 million viewers.)
In comparison to the top shows of the year, viewership for Monday's standard two-hour block was slightly below the Raw following WrestleMania 28. It makes Monday's Raw the third-most-watched two-hour block of the year. (The night after the Royal Rumble holds the top spot for 2012.)
The additional first hour averaged 3.90 million viewers, then Raw grew to an average of 4.88 million viewers in the second hour (standard first hour). The final hour grew to an average of 5.08 million viewers, which was just above the Raw-after-Mania's final hour of 5.07 million viewers.
-- On cable TV Monday night, Raw ranked #1 in overall viewers and #2 in key male demographics behind "Pawn Stars" on History Channel. No NBA or major sports competition was also a key contributor to Raw essentially unopposed Monday night.
-- In the week-to-week demporaphics, Raw's key increase came in adult male viewers. Teen males was up slightly compared to last week, but Raw's m18-34, m18-49, and m12-34 ratings were up two-and-a-half-tenths of a rating.
Caldwell's Analysis: As a one-time event, Vince McMahon's return produced one of the three best nights of the year for Raw with McMahon at the start and a hook for John Laurinaitis's potential "firing" at the end. WWE can't sustain it weekly, but it gives USA Network a shot in the arm for their quarterly TV ratings battle with ESPN for bragging rights. | |
