WWE Smackdown on Friday, May 3 scored a weak 1.82 rating, down seven percent from a 1.96 rating last week for The Undertaker's unadvertised match.
The rating tied with March 15 for the second-lowest of the year.
Smackdown averaged 2.47 million viewers, down ten percent from last week's show. It was the second-least-watched show of the year behind the Mar. 15 episode.
Facing significant NBA Playoffs competition, Smackdown ranked #6 in overall viewers on cable TV Friday night, #6 among males 18-34, and #4 among males 18-49.
Caldwell's Analysis: Now that WWE is out of WrestleMania Season, Smackdown is back to fighting for relevancy in the three-hour Raw Era. It doesn't help that on Raw three days after a Smackdown episode airs, WWE has a tendency to act like Smackdown did not happen, rendering their #2 show irrelevant at times. | |
